Two views of the same room corner: a treadmill on the left, and a small desk and chair in its place on the right.
A new use for the same space, once the old machine is outside and gone.

Room for what comes next

Your space can have a new purpose.

A home office. Room for a guest. A little more floor to enjoy. When an old machine is in the way, a clear pickup plan makes the next step easier.

The room is changing.

Book the equipment you are ready to let go of, whether it is one exercise bike or several machines. See the total before making the plan.

A replacement is coming.

Check whether your retailer includes removal. If the old treadmill is still your responsibility, give it a pickup day of its own.

It is not making the move.

Settle the price online, arrange to have it outside, and follow the pickup through text updates and completion photos. One less thing to coordinate before the keys change hands.

Match the machine

The right choice covers the right equipment.

Choose by the type of equipment. A brand name does not mean a different item, but a walking pad and a full treadmill do.

Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?

Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.

An exercise bike, elliptical or rower

Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.

Weights, racks and benches

Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Plan the move outside before pickup day.

A machine can be too heavy or awkward for a solo move. Arrange suitable help for indoor carrying, stairs or any dismantling needed to reach the outdoor pickup spot.

A pickup day is not an exact arrival window. Tell us before booking about a shared loading area, restricted outdoor access or equipment whose size or setup you are unsure how to select.

Exercise equipment

Special rules apply

Exercise equipment is not named on the Wenatchee station or county pages, so a treadmill or weight machine has to be confirmed before it is loaded.

City cost & eligibility
No retained page names exercise equipment or gives it a rate, so confirm with the Wenatchee Transfer Station on 509-662-8885 whether the machine falls under the furniture price or is weighed as part of a general load, and remember that rigid items over 6 feet are refused at Dryden and Chelan.
When & how
Call the station before loading the machine, then deliver it during the public hours of the station that confirms it will take the item.
Get it ready
Strip the console and any loose weights so the frame is as light as possible, fold the deck where the manufacturer allows it, check the length against the 6 foot rigid item limit at the county stations, and expect a heavy load to move from the minimum charge to the tonnage rate.

The city contracts the hauler, the hauler does the billing

Wenatchee's utility billing department handles water, sewer and storm drain services, and the city contracts Waste Management Inc. for garbage, recycling and yard waste collection. Waste Management is responsible for collection and billing of both residential and commercial solid waste customers, so a household starting, stopping or changing service calls the hauler on (877) 466-4668 or goes to wmnorthwest.com/wenatchee rather than calling City Hall. The city utility customer service desk answers on (509) 888-3600 and sits at 301 Yakima Street, Wenatchee, WA 98801, open 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.

The Wenatchee station prices loads in bands and items by the piece

The Wenatchee Transfer Station at 1421 South Wenatchee Avenue is operated by Waste Management for Chelan County, takes cash or credit card only, and opens to the public Tuesday to Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm, closed Mondays and on Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. A general load costs a minimum charge up to 1,000 pounds, then a tonnage rate above that, while green waste runs on its own two rates under and over 500 pounds. A single item of furniture has its own price, tires cost more with the rim attached and are limited to six per load, and the station adds a variable energy charge, a Chelan and Douglas Health District charge of 1 per ton, Washington State solid waste tax of 3.6 percent and a Wenatchee utility tax of 19.05 percent. Paint is only accepted once it is completely dried out, sharps go in a labeled puncture resistant container at no charge, and hazardous waste is refused.

Set up curbside collection with Waste Management

A Wenatchee household arranging garbage, recycling or yard waste collection, or asking about a bulky item.

Cost & conditions
The city states that Waste Management collects and bills solid waste customers but publishes no rate, and no curbside bulky program is published, so confirm the monthly charge and any bulky terms with the hauler on (877) 466-4668.
Arrange it
Contact Waste Management on (877) 466-4668 or through wmnorthwest.com/wenatchee to start or stop service, change a cart or ask about a bulky collection, and use the hauler account for billing.

Collection and billing are the hauler's rather than the city's, the city utility desk only bills water, sewer and storm drain, and bulky items otherwise travel to a transfer station.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self hauling in Wenatchee means the Chelan County transfer stations. The one inside the city, at 1421 South Wenatchee Avenue, is operated by Waste Management for the county, opens to the public Tuesday to Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm, takes cash or credit card only, and charges a minimum per load up to 1,000 pounds before the tonnage rate, with lower rates for green waste under and over 500 pounds, a set price for a single item of furniture, tires priced with or without rims and capped at six per load, free sharps disposal in a labeled container, paint accepted only when completely dried out, and no hazardous waste. Fees and taxes are stacked on top, including an energy charge, a Chelan and Douglas Health District charge of 1 per ton, Washington State solid waste tax of 3.6 percent and a Wenatchee utility tax of 19.05 percent. The county's Dryden station on Highway 2 runs Tuesday to Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. with no loads after 3:45 p.m. and publishes appliance rates covering up to two units without refrigerant with a separate charge for refrigeration and air conditioning units, plus brush, motor oil, scrap metal and tire rates, while refusing dirt, rock, concrete, propane tanks and hazardous waste. The Chelan station on Highway 97A charges by the cubic yard with seasonal hours, takes appliances and scrap metal, adds electronics recycling and free cardboard recycling, and refuses wet paint, rock, concrete and car batteries. Inert material such as concrete, rock, brick, dirt and sod goes to the Filion Inert Landfill in Cashmere on 782-1010 or to Waste Management's regional landfill in Douglas County on 884-2802 instead, and demolition or remodeling work needs asbestos testing first through Chelan County Public Works on 667-6415. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Exercise equipment removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Wenatchee.

How much does exercise equipment removal cost in Wenatchee?

A household treadmill is $159 as the first item and $85 additional. An elliptical is $159 first and $85 additional; an exercise bike is $119 first and $40 additional. Choose all your items to see the combined price. Loading, transportation and disposal are included, with any applicable sales tax shown before payment.

Can you pick up a treadmill or exercise bike today?

Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Available dates appear at checkout. Have the equipment outside and accessible according to your confirmation. You receive pickup updates and completion photos; we book a day rather than an exact appointment time.

Will you dismantle my treadmill or carry it out of the basement?

Dropcurb pickup starts outside. Arrange indoor carrying, stairs and any dismantling needed to get your equipment out before pickup. Check the moving instructions for your exact model and arrange suitable help. We load and haul away the equipment from an accessible outdoor spot.

Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?

Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.

How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?

Enter the combined weight in pounds for your dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Booking rounds that total up to the next 10 lb unit: 25 lb uses three units. Stands, racks and benches are separate items and do not include the loose weights. Add each one that is going.

Will Wenatchee take a treadmill?

No station or county page retained for Wenatchee names exercise equipment, so the item has to be confirmed. A metal frame may be weighed as part of a general household load or charged like a single furniture item, but the county stations refuse rigid items longer than 6 feet and the Wenatchee station charges a minimum up to 1,000 pounds before the tonnage rate. Call 509-662-8885 first.Official guidance

Who collects Wenatchee garbage and recycling?

Waste Management Inc. does, under the city contract, and it is responsible for collection and billing of both residential and commercial solid waste customers, including recycling and yard waste. New service or a stop and start goes through the hauler on (877) 466-4668 or wmnorthwest.com/wenatchee, not through the city. The city utility desk bills water, sewer and storm drain only, answers on (509) 888-3600 and is open 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday at 301 Yakima Street.Official guidance

What does the Wenatchee Transfer Station charge?

A general load has a minimum charge up to 1,000 pounds, then a tonnage rate above that, while green waste runs on lower rates under and over 500 pounds and a single item of furniture has its own price. Tires cost more with the rim attached and are limited to six per load. Fees and taxes are added, including a variable energy charge, a Chelan and Douglas Health District charge of 1 per ton, Washington State solid waste tax of 3.6 percent and a Wenatchee utility tax of 19.05 percent. The station takes cash or credit card only and is open Tuesday to Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm.Official guidance

Where do Wenatchee appliances go?

The county's published appliance rates sit at its own stations. Dryden on Highway 2 charges a minimum fee for appliances without refrigerant that covers up to two units, a small charge for each additional unit without refrigerant, and a higher per unit charge for refrigeration and air conditioning units. The Chelan station charges by the cubic yard for appliances and scrap metal with the same higher charge for refrigerant units. The Wenatchee Transfer Station publishes no appliance rate, so call 509-662-8885 before taking one there.Official guidance
