The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.
Flat-screen TVs
Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.
Tube TVs
An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.
TV stands and other electronics
The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

No Decatur page names televisions or electronics, and the curbside recycling cart takes paper, cardboard, cans and plastics one and two only, so a screen is confirmed with Environmental Services. The landfill is the self-haul site, and its published acceptance clause covers non-hazardous solid waste while refusing liquids and hazardous material.

When & how
Call Environmental Services first, then either set the screen out for the loader truck or take it to the Morgan County Regional Landfill in Trinity during its gate hours, Monday to Friday from 6:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. or Saturday from 7:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
Get it ready
Wipe the drive or reset the device and keep the screen whole, because a broken tube is a handling hazard on any load. Never put a screen in the recycling cart, which takes only paper, cardboard, cans and plastics numbered one and two, and never carry it to the household chemical drop-off, which is for chemicals, oil, paint and batteries.
Put bulky material where the carts are serviced, and keep it neat
Place large items neatly away from fences, mailboxes, buildings and utility poles, and behind the curb when the address has no alley pickup, without blocking an alleyway. Limbs should be cut under twelve feet long and under twelve inches in diameter, and the loader truck route does not serve both the street and the alley at one address.
Have the carts out by 6:00 A.M. on the collection day with the directional arrows pointing to the street or alley, behind the curb or on the shoulder rather than in the gutter or the street, and roll them back to a safe place near the house by 7:00 P.M. Bag household garbage, keep lids closed with nothing protruding, and keep carts away from buildings, fences, mailboxes and utility poles.
Liquids, ashes and building material stay out of the carts
Never place paints, solvents, flammable or other liquids, ashes, dead animals, oils or medical waste in a cart, and never fill a cart with building materials such as lumber, dirt, concrete or rocks. Those streams have their own route: the monthly household chemical collection takes paint, oil, cleaners, fuels, pool chemicals, pesticides and batteries, and the landfill refuses liquid and hazardous waste outright.
A holiday moves collection back a day, and Friday pickups move to Monday
When a holiday falls on a scheduled garbage day, the collection is generally rescheduled for the following day, except for Friday pickups which move to the following Monday. The 2026 calendar marks Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day and Labor Day with no changes and lists the shifted routes for New Year's Day, Juneteenth, the observed July 4th holiday, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Cover the load and bring a card, not a check, to the landfill
Every vehicle entering the Morgan County Regional Landfill has to be properly covered and secured, tailgates closed and tarp used as needed. Payment at the gate is cash, Visa, Discover or MasterCard, and checks are no longer accepted, with a minimum charge on small loads and a separate rate for tires and for approved asbestos.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

From $30 per ton for garbage, trash, wood materials, construction and demolition, industrial waste and animals, with a minimum charge based on the first 740 pounds and higher published rates for state-approved asbestos and for tractor, trailer and heavy equipment tires. Cash, Visa, Discover or MasterCard at the gate, with checks no longer accepted; every load must be covered and secured, and recycling loads are charged separately at no charge under 500 pounds and by the ton at 500 pounds and over.
Arrange it
Cover and secure the load, drive to 500 Landfill Drive in Trinity, and arrive during gate hours, Monday to Friday from 6:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. or Saturday from 7:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., allowing for a hand-unloading entry at least 30 minutes before closing.
Liquid waste and hazardous or toxic waste, including oil, paint, insecticides and batteries, are refused, asbestos needs prior approval from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management, and the mulch yard cannot load a pickup truck.

Monthly household chemical collection
A household with used motor oil, paint, cleaners, gasoline, kerosene, pool chemicals, fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, aerosol cans or batteries that cannot go in a cart.
Cost & conditions
No charge. Households only, free of charge, with a limit of ten one-gallon buckets of paint and no more than 100 pounds of chemicals per household each month; business, farm, barn and storage shed clean-outs are refused.
Arrange it
Bring the material to 1802 Central Parkway on the second Saturday of the month between 9:00 A.M. and 12:00 P.M., with each oil container marked to show what it holds.
Pickup truck loads over the stated limits are refused, businesses cannot participate, and the collection takes household chemicals, batteries, oil and paint rather than furniture, appliances, electronics or yard waste.
