When & how

Get it ready
Keep the piece whole and out of the street, stack the pile neatly, and leave room for the boom truck to work. Do not bag furniture into the green cart, because only bagged household waste belongs there and items outside the cart are not collected.
Garbage goes in the city-issued green cart, bagged, with the lid closed and the arrows on the lid facing the street. Carts are out before 6:00 AM on the collection day. Items left outside the cart are not collected, overfilled or badly placed carts are not serviced, and each residence is issued one 95-gallon cart, with a second cart available for a fee billed to the utility account.
