Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Fairhope publishes no rate and no acceptance rule for an exercise machine. Confirm the item, the route and any charge with the Waste Management Department at 251-928-8003 before moving it outside.
When & how
Call 251-928-8003 with the machine type and weight before set-out, then use the weekly trash day if the department confirms it or another route if it does not.
Get it ready
Break the machine down where you can, keep the parts together so the pile stays contained, and ask whether the console counts as small electronics that have to go to the Section Street drop-off instead.
One pile per week per household, capped at 2.5 cubic yards of trash, lawn or limb debris, which is about a full-size pickup bed loaded level, plus one large item. Mixed materials and black plastic bags are refused, only the first 2.5 cubic yards of an oversized pile is collected, and an oversized load may bring additional charges.

Cost & conditions
No charge. City of Fairhope residential trash customers up to 2.5 cubic yards per week with one large item per week. Collection is part of the billed residential service, and an oversized load may be subject to additional charges.
Arrange it
Set the pile out on your scheduled trash day, no more than 24 hours ahead, keep yard waste and household debris in separate piles from the bulk items, and keep everything clear of sidewalks, streets, hydrants and drainage.
One pile a week, 2.5 cubic yards maximum, no mixed materials and no black plastic bags. Electronics, paint cans, oil and antifreeze containers and garden pots do not go in this pile, and an item the department has not confirmed, such as exercise equipment, should be cleared first.
