The local disposal guide
Fairhope runs its own collection from 555 S. Section Street. Garbage goes out twice a week, the trash pile once a week, and recycling once a week, and the weekly trash pile is where furniture, mattresses and appliances belong. That pile is capped at 2.5 cubic yards, so a house cleanout takes more than one week. Televisions, computers and other small electronics never go in the trash, and the city sends them to the drop-off center on Section Street with a landfill decal, the same sticker that opens the city landfill to residents.
