Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Construction and demolition debris

Special rules apply

The city's residential debris policy refuses commercially created trash and construction refuse, and homeowner created construction refuse from major lot clearing, home construction, major renovation, repair or demolition, while debris from routine or minor homeowner maintenance is collected, excluding glass, tires, batteries and paint.

City cost & eligibility
The policy publishes no construction rate and sends commercially created or major project refuse to a commercial hauler licensed by the city, so confirm the route and the cost with Public Works at 251-968-1156.
When & how
Confirm the material with Public Works before set-out, and plan a private container if the load came from a contractor or a renovation rather than from the household. Debris goes out the night before the route day or by 6:15 a.m. if it is accepted.
Get it ready
Keep construction material out of the garbage containers and out of the recycling can, and keep glass, tires, batteries and paint out of any debris pile, because the policy excludes them from the residential service. A load from a contractor or a major renovation needs a licensed commercial hauler rather than the curb.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Debris is out the night before the route day or by 6:15 a.m.

The residential debris pass is a weekly route rather than an appointment, so no call is needed and the material has to be at the collection point the night before the scheduled route day or in the morning by 6:15 a.m. Only single-family residential homes qualify for the service, and the pile has to be household material from that address.

Garbage containers sit close to the edge but clear of the lanes

Inside the corporate limits, containers go one to five feet from the street or alley edge with clearance from vehicle and bicycle lanes, no earlier than 4 p.m. the day before collection, and come back in by 7 p.m. on the collection day. Beach Boulevard properties on Alabama Highway 182 use designated collection points instead, staged no earlier than 4 a.m. and removed by 6 p.m. the same day.

Containers are stored behind the front building line

When a container is not staged for collection, it stays behind the front building line, and a property over one acre keeps its containers at least 100 feet from the public right of way. In designated areas a waste management crew handles container placement and retrieval under a city council resolution, so residents there do not stage the container themselves.

Keep residue, aerosol, wax and styrofoam out of the recycling can

Carts go out the night before or by 6 a.m. on the service day. Aluminum cans, cardboard, newspaper, magazines, office paper, paper products, rinsed plastic jugs and rinsed tin cans belong in the curbside can, while anything containing food residue, oil, aerosol, wax or styrofoam is refused there.

City of Gulf Shores Public Works and Republic Services

The city's weekly residential debris pass

A single-family home with yard debris, cardboard boxes, old furniture, white goods or similar household material that will not fit in the garbage cart.

Cost & conditions
The city publishes no separate fee for the residential debris service, which runs weekly on the route day, so Public Works confirms any charge for an unusual or oversized load at 251-968-1156.
Arrange it
Set the material at the collection point the night before the scheduled route day or by 6:15 a.m. that morning, and let the weekly truck reach the address, since no appointment is booked for debris.

Single-family residential homes only, no businesses, condos or hotels, and no household trash such as kitchen waste, pet waste or medical waste. Items outside the published list, including mattresses and exercise machines, are confirmed with Public Works before they go out.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self-haul in Gulf Shores starts at the city drop-off recycling center behind Mobile Lumber on West 36th Avenue, which is open around the clock and takes sorted styrofoam, cardboard, plastic, plastic bags, paper, aluminum cans, household batteries, glass jars and bottles, scrap metal and tin cans, with paint, electronics and fluorescent bulbs held back for the quarterly special recycling drives. The city recycles scrap metal without paying for it, and that includes appliances. Everything the city site will not take has an outside route published on the same page: automotive batteries and motor oil at the Walmart Auto Care Center on East Fort Morgan Road, paint at the Baldwin County Solid Waste Magnolia Landfill on Landfill Drive in Summerdale, gasoline, household chemicals, pool chemicals, tires and insecticide at the Magnolia Landfill entrance published on County Road 49, prescription drugs in the drop box in the Gulf Shores Police Department lobby, and household medical waste through a healthcare provider and the Alabama Department of Environmental Management. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Gulf Shores.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Gulf Shores?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Gulf Shores?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Will Gulf Shores take construction debris from my project?

No for project loads. The city's residential debris policy refuses commercially created trash and construction refuse, and homeowner created refuse from major lot clearing, home construction, major renovation, repair or demolition, and it directs those loads to a commercial hauler licensed by the city. Debris from routine or minor homeowner maintenance and repairs is collected, but glass, tires, batteries and paint are excluded, and Public Works confirms anything unusual on 251-968-1156.Official guidance

Who handles garbage and debris in Gulf Shores?

Republic Services runs the city's garbage and curbside recycling contract, with once-a-week pickup north of 2nd Avenue and twice-a-week pickup on Mondays and Thursdays for homes south of and including 2nd Avenue, and service is set up at 888-425-7667. The city's Public Works Department runs the separate weekly residential debris service at 251-968-1156.Official guidance

Which properties get the Gulf Shores debris pickup?

Residential single-family homes only. Businesses, condominiums and hotels do not qualify for the debris service, which is why a condo or rental property has to arrange its own removal for furniture, appliances and yard debris.Official guidance

What can go out with the Gulf Shores debris truck?

Yard debris, cardboard boxes, old furniture, appliances and similar household material. Household trash does not go out with debris, which means no kitchen waste, no pet waste and no medical waste in the pile, and those stay in the garbage cart instead.Official guidance

Where do Gulf Shores households take paint, chemicals and batteries?

Paint goes to the Baldwin County Solid Waste Magnolia Landfill on Landfill Drive in Summerdale, and gasoline, household chemicals, pool chemicals, tires and insecticide go to the Magnolia Landfill entrance on County Road 49 at the same phone number. Automotive batteries and motor oil are accepted locally at the Walmart Auto Care Center on East Fort Morgan Road, prescription drugs go in the police department lobby drop box, and paint, electronics and bulbs can also wait for a city special recycling day.Official guidance
