No charge. free drop-off for City of Mobile residents at the three single-stream recycling centers. The city does not accept recyclables from businesses or from people who live outside Mobile, and residents may be asked for proof of residence.

Bring telephones, computers with their components and accessories, game consoles, CD and DVD players, cell phones, surge protectors and other small electronics, and place them in the marked blue bin. Do not bring televisions, which the centers refuse, and do not leave anything outside the bins.
Televisions are refused at the city's recycling centers. The city directs televisions and other large electronics to a specialty recycler in Chickasaw and also names older routes through a charity and a retailer.

The city lists a disposal fee only for CRT televisions at the specialty recycler and a recycling fee at the retailer it names, so confirm the current charge and the accepted device with the route you choose.

Get it ready
Never leave a television at a city recycling drop-off and never mix it into a trash pile or the garbage cart. Ask about home pickup for an elderly or disabled resident when you call the charity route.
Do not put electronics, appliances, paint, tires, glass, sinks, bathtubs, HVAC units, sheetrock, insulation or fencing on the trash pile or in the garbage cart. The city leaves the entire pile when prohibited items are mixed in, and appliances that hold refrigerant are not picked up at all. Household chemicals, batteries and paint belong at a household hazardous waste collection event.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Only the Chastang Landfill listing includes household garbage alongside trash and demolition debris; the other three are listed for trash and demolition debris only, and the page carries no fee schedule for any of them, so confirm the price and the accepted material before leaving.
