Appliances are on both sides of the Conway rules: they are not permitted in the curbside garbage cart, but a refrigerator, window air conditioner, water heater, washer, dryer, oven or lawn mower is accepted on a bulky item appointment with a disposal fee. The city landfill also takes appliances for a nominal fee.

The fee is discussed when the appointment is booked and added to the Conway Corporation bill, and the landfill charges its own nominal fee for an appliance dropped at the scale, so confirm the route and the amount with the department at (501) 450-6155 first.
When & how
Book a bulky item appointment for the unit, or drive it to the landfill at 4550 US-64 during open hours. Landfill hours are Monday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon.
Get it ready
Empty the unit and keep it out of the green cart, because appliances are excluded from curbside garbage. Take the unit to the landfill only with a printed or app copy of the Conway Corp bill and a matching government-issued ID, and expect a specialty item fee at the scale.
A bulky pickup is an appointment, not a garbage day
Conway takes bulky items only by appointment, and nothing may sit at the curb before the day prior to the scheduled collection. Put the booked items out within five feet of the curb by 7 a.m. on the appointment day, away from other carts, poles, mailboxes and vehicles, out of the roadway, and under at least 20 feet of clear space, because the collection depends on the load being reachable. One appointment covers three items, and an address may book two appointments in a calendar year.
Household garbage goes out in the city's 96-gallon green cart with the lid closed, positioned with the opening toward the street and the handle toward the house, within two feet of the curb and at least three feet from other carts, poles, mailboxes and vehicles. Carts are out by 7 a.m. on the collection day, which runs Tuesday through Friday depending on the address, and anything left outside the cart is not collected. Appliances, furniture, e-waste, tires, auto parts and batteries are all excluded from this cart.
Yard waste is banned from the green and blue carts and collected separately on the garbage day, and plastic bags of any kind will stop the yard waste collection. Glass never goes in the blue cart and instead goes in a small glass bin collected on the garbage day. Motor oil, liquid paint, liquid glue, auto batteries, auto parts, medical waste, tires and construction material such as carpet, padding, wood and drywall are not permitted in curbside garbage, and liquids are not accepted at the landfill unless they have been dried and solidified first.

A single-family household with a sofa, chair, mattress, dresser, rug, grill, outdoor furniture, disassembled play equipment or an appliance that will not fit in the green cart.
Cost & conditions
No charge. Included in the residential collection service for an address in good standing with Conway Corporation utilities that pays for green-cart garbage collection, with three items per collection and up to two collections per calendar year. The monthly fee of 17 dollars plus tax on the Conway Corporation bill covers the cart and these services, and a specialty item such as an appliance carries a fee quoted at booking.
Arrange it
Request the pickup on the city's bulky item form, then set the items out no earlier than the day before the appointment and at the curb by 7 a.m. on the appointment day.
Three items per appointment and two appointments a calendar year for an eligible single-family address, the collection runs at the department's discretion, and trees and debris, bricks and lumber, carpet rolls and pads, tires, bags of garbage, televisions, batteries and hazardous waste are refused.

Why will Conway not take paint or other liquids?+
