The Arizona bulky item program lists washers, dryers, microwaves, dishwashers and barbecue grills without a propane tank, and it excludes freezers, wine coolers and refrigerators outright. That exclusion is the important part for a Maricopa kitchen or laundry clear-out.
City cost & eligibility
No published charge covers an appliance, because Maricopa runs no collection and the provider page does not list a residential bulky price. Confirm acceptance and the fee with the provider serving the address, and ask about refrigerant units specifically, which the program refuses.
When & how
Book through the provider and set the appliance out only after the pickup date is confirmed. A refrigerator, freezer or wine cooler has to be routed somewhere else entirely, so settle that first.

The city Waste and Recycling Center closed on August 12, 2023, and the city now lists Waste Management and Waste Connections of Arizona as the waste and recycling services for Maricopa without publishing a service map. Confirm which provider serves the address before booking anything, and remember that the city has no bulky item list, no collection day and no fee to check.
A bulk pickup is booked, confirmed and then stacked by hand
The provider's bulk program asks for an app booking, states that call-in scheduling is unavailable, and requires the pickup date to be confirmed before anything is placed outside. The allowed amount is four cubic yards, the load is stacked neatly parallel to the front property line without blocking a sidewalk, and it is collected by hand, so keep the pile reachable and keep the pieces separated.
Tires, refrigerators, freezers, wine coolers, hazardous materials, medical waste, paint, automotive parts, motor oil, batteries, light bulbs, propane or compressed tanks and construction material such as carpet, concrete, blocks, pavers and brick are all refused by the bulk program. Bed bug activity in furniture or bedding also stops a pickup, and yard debris has to be bagged under 50 pounds per bag with limbs under four feet and tied.

The operator describes it as a regional municipal solid waste landfill serving the Phoenix metro area and surrounding cities. The fact sheet lists acceptable material as municipal solid waste, construction and demolition debris, yard waste, asbestos, biosolids, auto shredder residue, drum management and industrial or special waste, and refuses explosive, hazardous, medical, radioactive and universal waste and used oil. The city lists the site as a waste option for residents after the city center closed.
The fact sheet publishes no tipping fee, so confirm the price at the scale before hauling. The address is printed as Maricopa on the city page and as Mobile on the operator fact sheet, which is a typographical difference in the operator document rather than a second site, so follow the city address and the map directions.
