There is no city pickup in unincorporated Tanque Verde, so the couch leaves either on the household's own hauler account or on a self haul load.

From $18 for minimum charge for a covered self haul load under 2,000 pounds at the regional landfill, with heavier loads priced per ton and an environmental fee added to every load. Pima County residents self hauling to the Los Reales Sustainability Campus. A household that keeps a curbside hauler pays whatever that hauler charges, because collection outside the Tucson city limits is a private subscription.
When & how
Los Reales is open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is closed on Sunday, New Year's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The courthouse transfer station on North Oracle Road is open Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Get it ready
Cover the load, because an uncovered load is charged an extra fee, and keep furniture out of the recycling bins. At the North Oracle Road station the couch goes in with residential waste, while the Ryan Field station on the south side refuses furniture and carpet entirely.

Nothing sits at the curb waiting for a city crew, and the county publishes no bulky collection day for this area.

Cost & conditions
Curbside service in unincorporated Pima County is a private subscription, so the hauler sets its own monthly rate and its own bulky item terms. Pima County publishes a list of haulers permitted by the county, and the county does not publish a price for those accounts.
Arrange it
Arrange the account directly with a hauler permitted by Pima County, and ask that hauler which bulky items it takes, how they have to be prepared and whether there is a set out limit.
The county does not collect in this area, so an unarranged item left at the curb is an illegal dump, and the county asks residents to use a permitted hauler and to keep the landfill receipt.

The landfill refuses universal waste, hazardous waste, bulk liquids, waste oil and lead acid batteries, so electronics and chemicals have to be handled at the household hazardous waste program instead.

No explosives, ammunition, regulated hazardous waste, PCBs, universal waste, radioactive material, bulk liquids, raw septage, intact automobiles, lead acid batteries or waste oil. Free recycling drop-off, bagged household waste, municipal solid waste, green waste, concrete, dirt, rocks, bricks, furniture, carpet and construction debris. Tires are free for residents up to five a year with no off-road tires, antifreeze, batteries, oil and paint are free up to five gallons a month, and scrap metal including household appliances such as washers, dryers, hot water heaters and refrigerators without Freon is taken with residential fees.
No hazardous waste, liquid waste, dead animals or off-road tires, and commercial waste needs prior approval. Refrigerators have to arrive without Freon. Uncovered loads are charged an extra fee, and the station is closed on the listed state holidays.

Do all county transfer stations take the same things?+
No. The North Oracle Road station takes furniture, carpet, construction debris, concrete, dirt, rocks and bricks along with bagged household waste, while the Ryan Field station on the south side refuses all of those and refuses refrigerators and any item containing Freon.
