Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Exercise equipment is not named on the cleanup bulk item list or on the accepted items list, so a treadmill or weight machine has to be confirmed before it goes to the curb.
City cost & eligibility
A machine that the city treats as an ordinary household bulk item would go out with the free Neighborhood Cleanup for a resident paying the Environmental Fee, so confirm the piece with the city before the scheduled area dates rather than assuming it belongs in the pile.
When & how
Ask the Solid Waste Division before the cleanup dates for the address area, then set the machine out with the miscellaneous items if it is accepted.
Get it ready
Keep the machine under the 50 pound loose item limit or place it with the miscellaneous pile, and make sure two people can handle it safely. Remove the console or battery pack so the electronics can be routed separately.
Put the cleanup pile at the curb, not in the alley
Everything for the Neighborhood Cleanup goes at the curb. Do not block the sidewalk or set items near the trash containers, and do not use the alley unless the home faces Avenue A. Keep anything you want to keep away from the curb, because the pile is collected as it sits.
The city sends different crews for different materials, so appliances, tires, tree branches and limbs, and miscellaneous items each go in their own pile. Loose items must be bagged and light enough for two people to handle, staying under 50 pounds, and tree limbs must be under four feet, tied in bundles that also stay under 50 pounds. Up to five tires without rims are allowed per residence, and rims are refused.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

A Yuma household paying the Environmental Fee with furniture, a mattress, carpet, an appliance, electronics, bagged lawn clippings or up to five rimless tires that will not fit the containers.
Cost & conditions
No charge. Only for City of Yuma residents paying the Environmental Fee, which is part of the monthly residential solid waste service. There is one scheduled cleanup visit per area each year.

Dropcurb pickup starts outside. Arrange indoor carrying, stairs and any dismantling needed to get your equipment out before pickup. Check the moving instructions for your exact model and arrange suitable help. We load and haul away the equipment from an accessible outdoor spot.
Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
Enter the combined weight in pounds for your dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Booking rounds that total up to the next 10 lb unit: 25 lb uses three units. Stands, racks and benches are separate items and do not include the loose weights. Add each one that is going.
Can exercise equipment go out with the Yuma cleanup?+

Who collects trash and bulky items in Yuma?+
The City of Yuma Public Works Department Solid Waste Division runs the service itself for single family and multi-unit homes.
