Check whether the bike should be donated first
If the bicycle is complete or nearly complete and serviceable, Bikes for the World accepts many adult and child bikes, including some with minor missing parts or flat tires. Heavy rust, seized components, and some electric bikes are excluded, so check its current collection or drop-off requirements before setting the bike out.

Handle an electric-bike battery separately
Lithium-ion batteries and devices containing them do not belong in trash or municipal recycling. Use a qualified battery or electronics recycler, or a household hazardous-waste collection. Do not pry open the battery or attempt to remove a battery that is not designed for user removal.

When Dropcurb fits
Dropcurb can handle an accepted bicycle when it is outside and accessible before pickup. Standard pickup includes loading, transportation and disposal, and the bicycle option covers one non-electric adult or child bicycle, including road, mountain, BMX and folding bikes. You can book before moving it outside, but arrange the outdoor staging location and access yourself; indoor carry-out is not available. For an electric bike or battery, follow separate battery-handling requirements first.
