City cost & eligibility
Scheduled bulky collection uses the free city allowance of 10 items per week or 60 items in any 90 day period, with an additional charge beyond it. Mattresses delivered separately to the Otay Landfill for recycling are accepted at no charge.

Call Republic Services at (619) 421-9400 at least 24 hours before your service day, or bring the mattress to the Otay Landfill during gate hours, Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Mattresses and box springs delivered for recycling.
Bring mattresses separately from mixed waste and call ahead before bringing large quantities. The landfill refuses electronic equipment, tires, refrigerators, hazardous waste and wet paint. Secure and fasten every load. Hard hats and vests are required and provided at the gate, no children under 16 may leave the cab, and no scavenging.
