When & how
Book the e-waste pickup with the same channels as a bulky request, at least 24 hours before your service day, or take the device to a Los Angeles County collection event or permanent center.
Get it ready
Wipe or reset anything that stores personal data before handover, keep screens whole and separate from other material, and keep batteries out of the pile because they belong at the hazardous waste facility the county operates.
The bulky service is on call, so the request comes first: the hauler asks for at least 24 hours of notice and tells residents not to place items out without scheduling and receiving a confirmation. Requests can be made through the online form, an itemized email or the phone line, and each pickup allows up to four items a week.
Every bulky item has to be under 150 pounds and no larger than eight feet long by four feet wide, and the four item weekly allowance is counted per piece, so two couches, a refrigerator and a television use the whole allowance for that week. Anything over the limits cannot be loaded by the crew and needs another route.

Construction and demolition material, wood, asphalt, concrete, automotive parts, batteries, hazardous waste and liquids are refused, and each item has to stay under 150 pounds and within eight feet by four feet.
