Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and electronic waste

Special rules apply

One e-waste item can ride each on-call cleanup, and the hauler names computer monitors, fax machines, printers, DVD players, VCRs and televisions among the examples. Electronics also go free of charge to the county hazardous waste facility in Livermore, which takes computers, monitors, televisions and microwaves, and the landfill gate prices a television or monitor per unit.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included with the required residential subscription for one e-waste item in each of three cleanups in a rolling 12-month period, and free at the Alameda County hazardous waste facility for county residents inside the per-visit limits. A paid e-waste pickup applies beyond the free cleanups.
When & how
The hazardous waste facility on La Ribera Street opens Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed Sunday through Wednesday and on major holidays. A cleanup goes out on the regular service day after a booking.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data before handover, keep the remote, cables and power supply with the device, and stay in the vehicle at the county facility, which requires identification showing an Alameda County address and a container of no more than 5 gallons or 50 pounds.

The handoff matters

Right item.

Book the cleanup in advance and have it at the curb by 6 a.m.

On-call cleanups are collected by appointment on the regular service day, and the request has to reach Livermore Sanitation before that day. The material goes in the street against the curb by 6 a.m. on the scheduled date, at least 3 feet away from the carts, and never on the sidewalk or the driveway.

Batteries, phones and motor oil have their own curb routine

Household batteries go in a clear zipper bag placed on top of the blue recycling cart on collection day, with a piece of tape over the positive terminal, and cell phones go in a separate bag so they never travel with the batteries. Motor oil goes in a sealed one gallon jug beside the recycling cart and not inside it, and the hauler collects two jugs per household each week with free replacement jugs and filter bags.

Check the gate rules before a self-haul trip

The Vasco Road Landfill weighs and charges every load, adds an environmental fee on every load plus a fuel recovery fee, applies a one unit minimum, and charges extra for an uncovered residential load and for a hard to handle load that needs special handling. Clean separated concrete, brick, asphalt, drywall, wood and soil are charged at lower published rates than mixed debris.

City of Livermore Environmental Services and Livermore Sanitation

Three no-charge on-call cleanups each year

A household with a couch, a mattress, one appliance, one television and a pile of household junk that can wait for the regular service day.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Included with the required Livermore Sanitation residential subscription for single-family homes, up to three cleanups in any rolling 12-month period, with the account current and paid for at least one quarter.
Arrange it
Call Livermore Sanitation at 925-449-7300 before the regular service day, then put the separated material in the street against the curb by 6 a.m. on the scheduled date.

Each cleanup carries one appliance or one e-waste item, one furniture piece under 150 pounds, and up to 3 cubic yards of contained waste. Hazardous material, construction and demolition debris, exercise equipment, tires, car parts and anything over the weight or length limits are refused, and multi-family tenants arrange the service through their property manager.

Open the on-call cleanup program

With a new purchase

Paid on-call pickup once the cleanups are used

A household with an appliance, a television, a bulky item or a load of junk that has already used its three no-charge cleanups for the year.

Cost & conditions
From $27.08 per pickup for an e-waste item in the Livermore Sanitation bulky item and e-waste on-call pickup rates effective July 1, 2026, with bulky items and major appliances priced higher on the same schedule. Single-family, multi-family, commercial and government customers of the franchised hauler, with the price set by the item type.
Arrange it
Call Livermore Sanitation at 925-449-7300 to price the item and schedule the pickup once the free cleanups are used.

The price depends on the item: e-waste is priced lowest, household bulky items such as furniture, beds, box springs, bicycles and used exercise equipment sit in the middle, and major appliances holding oil, fuel or Freon are priced highest. The same material exclusions as the no-charge program still apply.

The Vasco Road Landfill at 4001 North Vasco Road is the local gate for a household load. It opens Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., closed Sunday, weighs every load, applies a one unit minimum, adds an environmental fee plus a variable fuel recovery fee, and charges extra on an uncovered load or a hard to handle load. Mixed residential waste is priced by the cubic yard, while separated brick, concrete, asphalt, drywall, wood and soil carry lower published rates, a mattress and box spring set is priced as a unit, and white goods and televisions are priced per item. Household chemicals, paint, batteries, electronics and sharps do not go through the gate at all: they go free of charge to the Alameda County facility at 5584 La Ribera Street, which is open Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for county households inside a 15 gallon or 125 pound visit limit. Mattresses have their own free route at 7150 Patterson Pass Road on Saturday mornings, and a renovation is handled with a debris box from Livermore Sanitation rather than a curb pile. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Livermore.

How much does TV removal cost in Livermore?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Livermore?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
