Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Right item.
Right place.

Everything has to fit in seven cubic yards

A large item collection is limited to a seven cubic yard space, about nine feet long, four feet wide and five feet tall, which the hauler compares to roughly 42 full 35 gallon bags. Small items go in a disposable box or bag, yard clippings and wood are bundled, boxed or bagged and no longer than four feet, and glass is boxed and bundled securely. Dirt, concrete and hazardous materials are refused, and no single item may weigh over 60 pounds except furniture and appliances.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Dublin runs everything through Amador Valley Industries, the city's exclusive hauler, which also trades as AVI after the Waste Connections acquisition. Compost, recycling and landfill material are collected weekly in the three carts, but anything large goes on a large item collection: single family households get three free ones each contract year from July 1 to June 30, each limited to seven cubic yards, and mattresses, furniture, white goods, televisions, computers and up to four car tires without rims all ride that service. Call (925) 479-9545 at least three days ahead and keep the load within 24 hours of the pickup. Hazardous waste never goes in a cart and instead goes to one of the four Alameda County facilities, free with no appointment, or to the annual AVI drop-off event. Renovation material has its own regime: 65 per cent diversion for remodels and tenant improvements, 75 per cent for new construction, all asphalt and concrete recycled, and the franchise hauler is the only allowed carrier. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Dublin.

How much does TV removal cost in Dublin?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Dublin?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
