Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.
Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.
Add the actual larger item alongside your bags and boxes, such as a sofa, chair or mattress. It has its own price and preparation. Keep construction materials and items needing special handling out of ordinary household bags.

Manteca does not run a standing curbside bulky item pickup. The city routes couches, furniture and similar large pieces through the District Community Clean-Up Event, which each district gets once a quarter and which is free to residents.
Manteca collects residential trash weekly in the city brown cart, with a small yearly allowance of extra-garbage stickers and a free cleanup bin as the day to day overflow routes.

Residential trash is collected weekly in the city brown cart. Put the cart in the gutter the night before or by 5 a.m. on the collection day, three feet from other carts and five feet from parked vehicles, and bring it in after collection so it is not left at the curb.

Bring a utility bill and government issued identification, arrive in one truck or a truck with a trailer no longer than eight feet, and unload the items yourself. There is no extra charge just because the pile is loose. Send a photo first if the count or contents are unclear. A household Dumpster Bag choice does not accept construction debris.

It is a two cubic yard bin the city delivers to a home free of charge for 24 hours, meant for everyday household garbage when the cart is not enough.
