Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Construction and renovation debris

Not on the regular city route

Neither curbside route takes construction material: the bag based on-call pickup specifically refuses building and construction material, furniture, lumber, logs and carpets, and the bulky allowance covers one item only. The routes are a debris box from the hauler or a self-haul trip to the recycling center and transfer station.

City cost & eligibility
The hauler quotes each debris box rather than publishing a rate, and the transfer station prices a self-hauled load at the gate, so the box and the gate charge have to be confirmed with the hauler before ordering or loading.
When & how
Order a construction and remodel debris box from Mt. Diablo Resource Recovery at (925) 682-9113, option 2, or take the load to the recycling center and transfer station at 1300 Loveridge Road during its 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. hours.
Get it ready
Keep construction material out of the carts and off the curbside pile, put treated wood in a dedicated treated wood waste box or in a mixed box that the hauler sorts, and never put household trash in a debris box because the hauler cannot collect it there.

Carts go out by 5 a.m. with the lid closed

Garbage, recycling and organics are collected weekly, and carts have to be at the curb by 5 a.m. on the service day with the contents below the rim and the lid properly closed. Garbage carts are the 64 or 96 gallon brown or black cart, recycling goes in the blue 64 gallon cart, and organics go in the 96 gallon green cart.

One big item a year, or a bagged load twice a year

The bulky allowance takes a single item, under 200 pounds, and it may be an appliance, a large piece of furniture or an electronic. The on-call allowance instead takes up to twelve 32 gallon bags of household garbage or yard waste at 50 pounds or less a bag, with branches bundled no larger than 18 inches by 3 feet, twice a calendar year and at least a week apart. Neither route takes construction material, and the bag route also refuses furniture, carpets, appliances and e-waste.

Rent a debris box for renovation debris

A household or contractor with construction, remodel or cleanout material that neither curbside route will take.

Cost & conditions
The hauler quotes each box rather than publishing a rate, with up front pricing and no added fuel or environmental recovery fees, so the size and the material mix have to be confirmed when the box is ordered.
Arrange it
Call Mt. Diablo Resource Recovery at (925) 682-9113, option 2, or email debrisbox@mdrr.com to order the box for a construction and remodel project, a general cleanout or treated wood waste.

A debris box cannot hold household trash debris. A dedicated box is available for treated wood, and a mixed box with treated wood is also accepted because the hauler does the sorting.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Pittsburg's city routes are the curb and two drop off locations. The curb takes one bulky item a year under 200 pounds, an appliance, large furniture or an electronic, and two bagged loads of garbage or yard waste, twelve bags at a time and no more than 50 pounds a bag. Anything else moves by vehicle: the Delta household hazardous waste facility on the Pittsburg-Antioch Highway takes paint, chemicals, oil, batteries, bulbs, sharps and e-waste free from residents with proof of address on Thursday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the recycling center and transfer station at 1300 Loveridge Road takes self-hauled residential waste, including the appliances the hazardous waste facility refuses, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. A renovation load has no curbside route at all, so it needs a debris box quoted by the hauler or a self-hauled load at the transfer station. City recycling center and transfer station for self-hauled waste and appliances

Recycling Center and Transfer Station

1300 Loveridge Road, Pittsburg, CA 94565

Self-hauled residential waste from Pittsburg households, including the appliances the Delta household hazardous waste facility refuses, and bare uncut Christmas trees at no charge until January 31.

The city's municipal code sets out the self-haul rules in section 8.04.250, and the county household hazardous waste program sends appliances here because it does not take them, so confirm the accepted material and the gate charge for the specific load before loading.

7 a.m. to 6 p.m., phone (925) 473-0180.

The site prices a self-hauled load at the gate rather than publishing a flat rate, so ask at (925) 473-0180 what the load will cost before you drive out.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Pittsburg.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Pittsburg?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Pittsburg?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

How do I get rid of renovation debris in Pittsburg?

Not at the curb: the on-call pickup refuses building and construction material, lumber, logs and carpets, and the bulky allowance is a single item. A renovation load goes into a debris box quoted by Mt. Diablo Resource Recovery at (925) 682-9113 option 2, or into a self-haul trip to the recycling center and transfer station at 1300 Loveridge Road.Official guidance

What happens to holiday trees?

Holiday trees are collected at the curb when scheduled in advance, on the regular collection day, and the tree has to be undecorated and unflocked and cut into three foot sections with the stand removed, placed next to the organics cart. A bare uncut tree can also be dropped at the recycling center and transfer station free until January 31.Official guidance
