One computer setup can be several items.

A separate monitor and tower count separately. Small devices and cables have their own box option. Choose what is actually leaving so your price matches the pickup.

Monitor, desktop or laptop.

Choose Computer monitor for each separate display. Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. A laptop is its own item. Add only the devices going.

Printer or office copier.

A printer with a built-in scanner belongs under Printer. A floor-standing copy machine belongs under Office copier. The shape matters more than the brand.

A box of smaller electronics.

Use Box of electronics for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. For a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries, send a photo and confirm the fit before booking.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Accepted with preparation

Televisions, computers and other electronic waste are acceptable bulky items, and putting them in the trash is illegal.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included in the up to three free bulky item pickups a year for a residential home. Electronic waste is also a free residential drop-off item at Kiefer Landfill and the North Area Recovery Station when the load contains nothing but free items, with personal data erased before the device is handed over.
When & how
Schedule the bulky pickup with Atlas Disposal before the item goes out, or take it to a county facility during its published hours.
Get it ready
Erase personal data from a computer, phone or drive before it leaves your hands, remove loose batteries so they can go to a hazardous waste facility, and never put electronic waste in a cart because that is illegal.

Right item.
Right place.

Keep the pile to 10 cubic yards and inside the set-out window

A bulky pile must not exceed 10 cubic yards, about 10 by 7 by 4 feet, and it goes out by 6 a.m. on the scheduled collection day and no sooner than 24 hours before. Keep the pile six feet from vehicles and three feet from carts, out of the gutter, and clear of the sidewalk, driveway and road, and bag leaves and grass clippings.

Schedule before you set anything out

The hauler's instruction is to dial before you pile, so a bulky pickup has to be scheduled with Atlas Disposal at 916.288.2800, through the app or by email before items go to the street, and property owners or tenants can book it. Hazardous material never goes in the pile and electronic waste has to be scheduled rather than thrown away.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Rancho Cordova households have two curbside routes for large items and two county routes behind them. Atlas Disposal takes up to three free bulky piles a year of no more than 10 cubic yards, scheduled before anything goes out and set out by 6 a.m. on the collection day. Anything the bulky pile refuses has a destination: mattresses, large appliances, electronics, clean metal and up to four passenger tires are free at Kiefer Landfill and the North Area Recovery Station when the load contains nothing but free items, hazardous material goes to the drop-off facility on the Roseville Road site or to Kiefer's antifreeze, battery, oil and paint collection, and construction material moves through a temporary debris box from one of the city's eligible providers or through a certified sorting facility such as GreenWaste Florin Perkins, L&D Landfill or Sierra Waste. County gate fees and provider rates are published separately, loads must be covered and secured, and fluids and removable batteries come out before anything is handed over. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Electronics removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Rancho Cordova.

How much does electronics pickup cost in Rancho Cordova?

A computer monitor is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Choose the actual devices and quantities to see your combined price online. A separate desktop tower and monitor are separate items. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; review the total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can you pick up old electronics today in Rancho Cordova?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout and have the prepared items outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done. The booking is for a day, not an exact arrival time.

Does computer removal include my monitor and printer?

Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. Add a separate monitor, printer or laptop as its own item if it is going too. For small devices, cables and chargers together, choose Box of electronics and check the description before booking.

Do you erase data from old computers?

Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away. Completion photos confirm the pickup, not data destruction.Official guidance

Can I book one box of old cables and small electronics?

Yes. Box of electronics is an existing option for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. A monitor, desktop computer and printer each have their own item option. Send a photo before booking for a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries so we can confirm the fit.

Can a television go in the Rancho Cordova trash?

No. Throwing electronic waste in the trash is illegal, and the guide tells residents to schedule a bulky item pickup instead. Computers, monitors, fax machines, printers, cell phones, televisions and other electronic waste are all on the acceptable bulky list, and they are also free drop-off items at the county facilities.Official guidance
