The drop-off is at 25950 Springbrook Ave, Suite 202, open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the third Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, where the resident checks in with an address and identification. Either route can be repeated up to four times a year at no additional cost.
The city states plainly that it is illegal to dispose of garbage and bulky items such as furniture, appliances and tires in front of a home, a business, an alleyway or on the street, so nothing goes out until a pickup is booked and the evening before arrives. That rule is also why the drop-off exists as a same-week alternative for a household that cannot wait for a collection day.
Electronics are a drop-off item, never a pickup item
Electronic waste, including televisions, is free at Burrtec's Springbrook Avenue yard and is expressly not accepted on scheduled bulky item pickups. The yard requires identification and proof of residence and closed-toe shoes, and the city also points to the county household hazardous waste collection events and the two permanent collection centers near Santa Clarita, which take hazardous waste and e-waste year round and are open Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
