Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Exercise equipment is not named on the cleanup's large item examples or on the hazardous waste item table, so a treadmill or weight machine has to be confirmed with the hauler rather than assumed, and it would have to fit the two item cleanup limit if it is accepted.

When & how
Call the hauler before the service day and book only after the machine is confirmed.
Get it ready
Break the machine down where you can, remove any console or battery pack so nothing with a battery is set out, and keep it out of the carts and off the pile until the route is confirmed.
Cleanups run on the regular service day, so the request has to reach the hauler at least two business days ahead with the account name, the address and a list of everything to be set out. Loose garbage is never collected, wood pieces and carpet rolls have to be bundled or tied to four feet or less, pressure treated wood is refused, and only the items a customer service representative confirms will be taken.

No charge. Up to two cleanups a year at no charge for eligible single-family homes, subject to review and availability, each taking twelve bags of garbage, or six bags plus one large item, or two large items.

Submit the online request form or call (650) 589-4020 at least two business days before your regular service day and list everything that will be set out.
Loose garbage, hazardous waste, electronic waste, construction and landscaping debris and cart overflow are refused, and anything not confirmed by the representative will be left behind.

Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
