Choose the right items

One computer setup can be several items.

A separate monitor and tower count separately. Small devices and cables have their own box option. Choose what is actually leaving so your price matches the pickup.

Monitor, desktop or laptop.

Choose Computer monitor for each separate display. Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. A laptop is its own item. Add only the devices going.

Printer or office copier.

A printer with a built-in scanner belongs under Printer. A floor-standing copy machine belongs under Office copier. The shape matters more than the brand.

A box of smaller electronics.

Use Box of electronics for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. For a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries, send a photo and confirm the fit before booking.

Computers, printers and small electronics

Accepted with preparation

Electronic devices and components must not go in any cart, and the hauler routes them to an approved electronics recycling or household hazardous waste facility. The Tracy Material Recovery Facility takes them by item, with the screen items free and other devices charged.

City cost & eligibility
The facility prices electronic waste by item rather than as a single rate: a CRT television, television or monitor carries no charge, limited to five per day, while a DVD player, VCR, computer or printer is $13.00 each and a microwave is $29.00 each, so confirm the item and the current rate before loading. The city appliance voucher is not valid for electronic waste.
When & how
Take the devices to the Tracy Material Recovery Facility at 30703 S. MacArthur Drive, or to an approved electronics recycling or household hazardous waste facility, and keep them out of all three carts.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data from computers and phones before the trip, keep cables and cords with the devices, and keep everything electronic out of the recycling, trash and organics carts because improper disposal can damage equipment, contaminate recyclables and create fire hazards.

Televisions and monitors

Accepted with preparation

A television or monitor is accepted free at the Tracy Material Recovery Facility, limited to five per day, and a television can also go out with the annual clean-up as long as Tracy Disposal is notified in advance, which the city lists as an item needing special handling.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. A CRT television, television or monitor is accepted at the Tracy Material Recovery Facility at no charge, limited to five per day. A television can also go out with the free annual clean-up when it is within the two large item allowance and Tracy Disposal is notified before it is placed at the curb.
When & how
Take the set to the Tracy Material Recovery Facility at 30703 S. MacArthur Drive, or include it in a scheduled clean-up after calling Tracy Disposal at (209) 835-0601 about the special handling.
Get it ready
Keep the set out of all three carts, protect the screen for transport, and remove cables and stands. Count the television as one of the two large items if it goes on the clean-up, and limit a facility trip to five screen items per day.

For a load to the material recovery facility

Separate the load before the trip: mattresses recycle free up to six units per day per vehicle, a screen item is free up to five per day, household oil, coolant, filters and sharps are free, and appliance, electronics, tire and battery items are priced individually. Keep hazardous waste out entirely, because the facility does not accept it, and confirm the day's public disposal hours and the rate for the load before leaving.

Self-haul to the Tracy Material Recovery Facility

A household with mattresses, electronics, appliances, exercise equipment or a small mixed load that would rather drop it off than wait for a pickup.

Cost & conditions
From $41 for minimum charge for debris, wood or green waste of one cubic yard or less at the Tracy Material Recovery Facility, with flat load rates from $41.00 to $105.00 by vehicle and load size and weighed rates for garbage at $105.00 per ton, green waste at $88.82 per ton and wood at $105.00 per ton. Any customer bringing a load to the facility's public disposal area. Heavy, construction and demolition material is excluded from the minimum charge and priced by weight instead, and household sharps, used oil, coolant and oil filters are taken at no charge.
Arrange it
Drive to 30703 S. MacArthur Drive during the facility's public disposal hours, separate the load by material, and pay at the gate. Mattresses up to six units per day per vehicle and screen items up to five per day are free, and appliances, other electronics, tires and batteries are priced individually.

Hazardous waste is not accepted at the facility, so paint, chemicals and other hazardous products still have to go to the county facility in Stockton. Heavy construction and demolition material is excluded from the minimum charge, and the free mattress allowance is six units per day per vehicle.
