Choose the right items

One computer setup can be several items.

A separate monitor and tower count separately. Small devices and cables have their own box option. Choose what is actually leaving so your price matches the pickup.

Monitor, desktop or laptop.

Choose Computer monitor for each separate display. Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. A laptop is its own item. Add only the devices going.

Printer or office copier.

A printer with a built-in scanner belongs under Printer. A floor-standing copy machine belongs under Office copier. The shape matters more than the brand.

A box of smaller electronics.

Use Box of electronics for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. For a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries, send a photo and confirm the fit before booking.

Accepted with preparation

Electronic waste never goes in the carts, and the City runs free collection events at the maintenance yard while the county runs its own free program.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Free electronic waste collection at the City events at the Public Works Maintenance Yard, and free disposal through the Los Angeles County household hazardous and electronic waste program.
When & how
The City holds electronic waste collection events at the Public Works Maintenance Yard at 825 South Sunset Avenue from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on its published Saturdays, and the county publishes a calendar of collection events around Los Angeles County.
Get it ready
Keep electronics out of all three carts, because the hauler lists electronic waste as material that must not go in the containers and says it may interrupt service. Wipe personal data from a computer, phone or drive before it leaves your hands.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

West Covina households can self haul, but they have to be set up for it. Business owners and residential householders who want to collect and dispose of their own solid waste and recyclables instead of using the City's authorized hauler must first obtain a self hauler or back hauler permit from the City and follow the procedures under the City's organics ordinance. Electronic waste and household hazardous material are easier through the free programs: the City's collection events at the Public Works Maintenance Yard handle electronics, and the Los Angeles County household hazardous and electronic waste program runs events and reuse center days around the county for paint, batteries, oil, sharps, pharmaceuticals and small propane cylinders. worth knowing.

Electronics removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in West Covina.

How much does electronics pickup cost in West Covina?

A computer monitor is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Choose the actual devices and quantities to see your combined price online. A separate desktop tower and monitor are separate items. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; review the total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can you pick up old electronics today in West Covina?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout and have the prepared items outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done. The booking is for a day, not an exact arrival time.

Does computer removal include my monitor and printer?

Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. Add a separate monitor, printer or laptop as its own item if it is going too. For small devices, cables and chargers together, choose Box of electronics and check the description before booking.

Do you erase data from old computers?

Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away. Completion photos confirm the pickup, not data destruction.Official guidance

Can I book one box of old cables and small electronics?

Yes. Box of electronics is an existing option for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. A monitor, desktop computer and printer each have their own item option. Send a photo before booking for a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries so we can confirm the fit.

Where can I take electronic waste?

The City holds electronic waste collection events at the Public Works Maintenance Yard at 825 South Sunset Avenue from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on its published Saturdays, using Full Circle Electronics, and the events take computers and laptops, cell phones, televisions, printers, hard drives and servers, monitors, tablets, game and stereo equipment and circuit boards.Official guidance

Is there another free option?

Solar panels are not accepted at the events or the permanent collection centers.Official guidance

Who collects trash in West Covina?

Athens Services is the City's franchise hauler and answers customer service calls from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to noon Saturday. City questions go to the Public Works Department at (626) 939-8458.Official guidance

Where do used needles go?

The Cortez Park Community and Senior Center at 2501 East Cortez Street is a medical sharps container distribution and disposal location, and only West Covina residents can dispose of full containers there, not clinics or businesses. The county household hazardous waste program also lists sharps disposal.Official guidance

What does the organics rule require?

The state organics law and the City's ordinance require all residents to separate yard trimmings, food waste and food-soiled paper from the trash and put them in the green cart the City's franchise hauler provides. Businesses and multifamily properties generating two cubic yards or more of waste receive green carts too, and small generators can apply for a waiver for space constraints or low volumes.Official guidance

How do I know which cart an item belongs in?

The City publishes container guides for recycling, composting and landfill material in English and Spanish or Chinese and points residents to the hauler's searchable guide. The container rules also list batteries, cleaning products, fluorescent bulbs and tubes, LED lights, automotive parts, construction debris and electronic waste as items to keep out.Official guidance
