Choose the right items

One computer setup can be several items.

A separate monitor and tower count separately. Small devices and cables have their own box option. Choose what is actually leaving so your price matches the pickup.

Monitor, desktop or laptop.

Choose Computer monitor for each separate display. Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. A laptop is its own item. Add only the devices going.

Printer or office copier.

A printer with a built-in scanner belongs under Printer. A floor-standing copy machine belongs under Office copier. The shape matters more than the brand.

A box of smaller electronics.

Use Box of electronics for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. For a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries, send a photo and confirm the fit before booking.

Televisions and electronics

Special rules apply

Electronics of every kind are refused on the City's bulky item list, so televisions, monitors and computers go to the City's hard to recycle partner instead.

City cost & eligibility
The City lists electronics as unacceptable for the bulk pickup and names SustainAbility and Rooney Road Recycling Center as its partners for hard to recycle and hazardous items. SustainAbility describes electronics as fee based recyclables, so confirm the current price with the center before loading.
When & how
Take electronics to the SustainAbility hard to recycle center at 6340 W 56th Avenue in Arvada, which is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., or call the center at 303.425.9226 to arrange a pickup.
Get it ready
Keep electronics out of the bulky pile and the trash cart, because the City refuses electronics on the bulk list. Wipe personal data from a computer, phone or drive before it leaves your hands.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Arvada residents can self haul to two partner centers and to the City's own events. Hard to recycle items, including electronics and mattresses, go to the SustainAbility center at 6340 W 56th Avenue in Arvada, which is fee based and open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The City also runs three bulky item drop off events a year at the North Area Athletic Complex at 19500 W 64th Parkway, included in the minimum service, with proof of residency, a five item limit and self unloading. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Electronics removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Arvada.

How much does electronics pickup cost in Arvada?

A computer monitor is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Choose the actual devices and quantities to see your combined price online. A separate desktop tower and monitor are separate items. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; review the total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can you pick up old electronics today in Arvada?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout and have the prepared items outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done. The booking is for a day, not an exact arrival time.

Does computer removal include my monitor and printer?

Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. Add a separate monitor, printer or laptop as its own item if it is going too. For small devices, cables and chargers together, choose Box of electronics and check the description before booking.

Do you erase data from old computers?

Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away. Completion photos confirm the pickup, not data destruction.Official guidance

Can I book one box of old cables and small electronics?

Yes. Box of electronics is an existing option for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. A monitor, desktop computer and printer each have their own item option. Send a photo before booking for a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries so we can confirm the fit.

Where do televisions and computers go in Arvada?

Electronics of all kinds are on the City's unacceptable bulky item list and Arvada has no recycling drop off site of its own. The City points residents to SustainAbility, which runs a hard to recycle center at 6340 W 56th Avenue in Arvada with electronics recycling and electronic waste pickups, and to Rooney Road Recycling Center for hazardous material.Official guidance

Does it cost anything to recycle electronics?

SustainAbility describes hard to recycle items, including electronics, mattresses and bundle materials, as fee based recyclables, so expect a charge rather than a free drop-off. Call the Arvada center at 303.425.9226 for the current price on the item you have.Official guidance

Who runs trash collection in Arvada?

Arvada runs a citywide waste and recycling program under its organized waste hauling ordinance, with service coordinated through the City service line at 720-898-7575 and billed monthly on the bi-monthly water and trash bill. City Hall is at 8101 Ralston Road.Official guidance

Why do I pay even if I use another hauler?

The minimum service level fee applies to all residents because the program is meant to benefit the whole community, and a lower minimum rate was negotiated for residents who hire a different hauler. The fee mostly passes to the contracted hauler, with a smaller share funding the bulky item and leaf drop off events and the billing system, and non-payment may result in a lien even though water service continues.Official guidance

Do I have to recycle in Arvada?

The organized waste hauling ordinance requires eligible households to have access to curbside recycling and a recycling cart is provided, and other licensed haulers have to offer recycling too. Residents can choose not to place the recycling cart out, but the cart is part of the program.Official guidance

Where do hard to recycle items go?

The City names two partners: Rooney Road Recycling Center at 151 South Rooney Road in Golden for household hazardous waste by appointment on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and SustainAbility, whose Arvada center at 6340 W 56th Avenue takes hard to recycle items including electronics and mattresses for a fee.Official guidance
