City cost & eligibility
From $40 for the published per piece drop-off fee at Spring Back Colorado Mattress Recycling. Any size mattress or box spring, with a king set counted as three pieces. Bed bug infested pieces cost more and have to be wrapped and sealed in plastic, water beds, air beds and mechanical beds are charged separately, and the fee is paid at the drop-off counter.
When & how
Take the mattress to Spring Back Colorado at 4975 Pontiac St in Commerce City, open Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with no appointment needed for drop-off, or schedule a pickup with the same company on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday.
Get it ready
Keep the bedding dry and unfrozen, wrap and seal anything with signs of bed bugs before it goes in the vehicle, and ask a licensed hauler separately if you would rather have the mattress collected at home, because each hauler sets its own bulky item terms.
Adams County does not provide trash and recycling collection in unincorporated areas, so a Berkley household contracts any licensed solid waste hauler. The county licenses haulers under Ordinance 17, requires them to offer curbside recycling alongside landfill collection, and publishes the licensed list, which includes trash and recycling companies as well as separate junk removal and construction debris haulers.
