Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Get it ready
Break the machine down as far as it will come apart, remove any console or battery pack so the electronics are handled separately, and keep the pieces out of the trash because the city does not run curbside pickup.
The Trash Bash runs Friday April 24 and Saturday April 25 and Friday September 18 and Saturday September 19 in 2026, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, at the Brighton Wastewater Treatment Facility, 325 North Kuner Rd, using the Brighton Street entrance. Bring a city water bill or other proof of residence plus identification, because the programme is for City of Brighton residents and commercial or industrial loads are turned away.
Containerize small loose items so the weight is reasonable for the container, cut carpet up, leave branches unbundled because twine and rope foul the grinder, and keep lumber nail free and shorter than eight feet. Tires are accepted for a per tire fee with no oversized tires, and a donation is suggested to help defray the cost of the service.
