  1. Check what your delivery includes.

If a new mattress is arriving, check whether your retailer is taking the old one. If you need Dropcurb, choose a day when you can have it outside. A delivery window and a pickup day are different arrangements.

  2. Arrange the trip outside.

Plan for doorways, elevators and interior stairs before pickup day. You arrange any indoor carrying. Use a permitted outdoor location and keep entrances and the walking path open.

  3. Make the right mattress easy to find.

Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. Add a location photo and clear access notes so your hauler can identify exactly what is going.

Mattresses and box springs

Special rules apply

No town or county page names a mattress. The transfer site accepts household items by the load, but bedding is not on its published list, so the route has to be confirmed with the site or with the household's own hauler.

City cost & eligibility
The county pages publish no mattress entry or mattress price, and the town publishes no municipal route at all, so confirm with the transfer site at 303-720-3129 or with the household's hauler before the unit leaves the property. A mattress arriving at the transfer site would be priced like other household material by the container, the load or the yard.
When & how
Ask during the site's open hours, Monday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., or ask the hauler before a set out, because there is no published bedding collection in the town.
Get it ready
Keep the unit dry and wrapped so it can be handled, keep it out of any recycling stream, and count a mattress and box spring as separate pieces when confirming what the load will cost.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Castle Rock itself does not collect anything

The town states that it does not provide trash removal or recycling services. A neighborhood with a homeowners association may arrange collection through the HOA, and an address without one has to obtain individual service, with HBS Trash and Waste Management named as providers that serve the area. Nothing sits at the curb waiting for a town crew, so the route has to be arranged before the material goes out.

The county transfer site prices loads by container, truck or yard

The Sedalia Transfer Site and Community Recycling Center on Peterson Road takes residential waste and light construction materials as well as appliances, furniture and household items, and it prices loads in four ways: 30 gallon bags or cans, 40 and 50 gallon containers at higher rates, level or above bed or roof line pickup loads, and non-compactable material priced in the yard by the cubic yard. Credit cards are not accepted, so bring cash.

With a new purchase

Use the household's own hauler account

A Castle Rock address without a homeowners association that wants regular collection and a set of bulky or extra pick up terms.

Cost & conditions
The town does not provide collection and publishes no rate, because each household contracts directly with a hauler. The town names HBS Trash and Waste Management as providers serving the area, so the monthly rate and the bulky item terms come from whichever hauler the address chooses.
Arrange it
Contact a provider such as HBS Trash or Waste Management to open an account, and ask that hauler what it takes, how bulky items are booked and what they cost.

Nothing is collected by the town, so a set out without an account is the household's own risk, and each hauler sets its own item list, set out rules and extra pick up charges.

Self haul to the Douglas County transfer site

Cost & conditions

Douglas County residents dropping residential waste and light construction materials at the Sedalia Transfer Site and Community Recycling Center, 5761 Peterson Road. Credit cards are not accepted.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Castle Rock residents self haul to two county sites. The Sedalia Transfer Site and Community Recycling Center at 5761 Peterson Road is open Monday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and takes residential waste, light construction material, appliances, furniture and household items, with metal, cardboard, paper, car batteries and used motor oil recycled separately, and it prices loads by the container, the truck load or the cubic yard while taking cash only. Televisions and monitors are the one electronics exception there, because the site refuses them while accepting computers and other electronics. Household chemicals and batteries go to GreenWorks at 5675 Delva Way in Sedalia instead, which is free for county residents but appointment only, open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a five gallon per container and ten gallon per visit limit on liquids. Refrigerators and freezers can skip both trips if the household is eligible for the utility's free pickup and rebate, and a larger renovation load goes to one of the regional landfills the county lists. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Mattress removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Castle Rock.

How much does mattress removal cost in Castle Rock?

The price depends on the mattress size you choose. A queen mattress is $99 as the first item and $30 as an additional item. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Add any box spring or frame separately, then review your total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can I book same-day mattress pickup in Castle Rock?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout. Have the mattress outside and accessible according to your confirmation. Your booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time, and we text you when your hauler is on the way.

Is my box spring or bed frame included in mattress removal?

The mattress price covers the mattress only. Add your box spring, bed frame or adjustable base separately if those are going too. Choose the size and type that match each item. The combined price appears before booking.

Will you carry my mattress downstairs or out of my apartment?

Dropcurb starts outside. You arrange to move the mattress out of your apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load it and take it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Check your building’s access rules before arranging the move outside.

Can you pick up my old mattress when my new one arrives?

You can choose an offered pickup day around your replacement delivery. First check whether the retailer already includes old-mattress removal, and arrange who will bring it outside if needed. Dropcurb books a pickup day, not the retailer’s delivery window. Contact us before booking if access is limited to a short time.

Will the county take a mattress in Castle Rock?

Mattresses are not named on the county transfer site list, which names appliances, furniture and household items, and the town provides no collection of its own. Call the Sedalia Transfer Site at 303-720-3129 or the household's hauler to confirm acceptance and the price, which would follow the site's container, load or yardage pricing.Official guidance
