No charge. Electronics go in the recycling side of the event, which the town describes as free for residents, and only trash in the dumpsters carries the flat fee.

Get it ready
Wipe personal data from computers and phones before handing them over, and keep the devices out of the trash dumpster. Batteries over 300 watt hours and electric vehicle batteries are not accepted, so those stay home.
Town Clean Up Day runs on the first Saturday of June, which is June 6 in 2026, at the Nederland Transfer Station, 286 Ridge Rd north of town. Cars are allowed in from 8 a.m. and the event continues until the dumpsters are full, so the earlier the better. Recycling is free and only trash in the dumpsters is charged, at a flat fee per car or truck bed with larger loads costing more.
Each partner runs its own station, so separate the load in advance: appliances, cardboard, food scraps, mattresses, clothes and shoes, hard plastics, single stream recycling, styrofoam, bicycles and rimless tires go to the Boulder County station; hazardous material such as antifreeze, motor oil, paint and stain, batteries and vape devices goes to the county hazardous materials station; electronics go to Eco-Cycle; and logs, pine needles, grass trimmings and slash go to the community sort yard. Separate rims from tires first, and leave electric vehicle batteries and any battery over 300 watt hours at home because they are not accepted.
Household chemicals go to a hazardous waste drop-off
The town tells residents to dispose of household hazardous waste at a local hazardous waste drop off center. The products that need that route include household cleaners, car products and used oil, fuel, batteries, cooking oil, laundry products, paint thinners, turpentine, mercury thermometers, paint and stains, pool chemicals, lawn and garden products, fertilizers, insecticides and pesticides, fluorescent tubes and pet products. At Town Clean Up Day the county hazardous materials station takes antifreeze, motor oil, paint and stain in latex and oil based products, car and household batteries and vape devices.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.
