$30 per mattress or box spring at the Mark Lane transfer facility, where the facility states mattresses and box springs will be charged $30 each. Clean, dry mattresses may be recycled separately from bulky waste, while a dirty or wet mattress counts as bulky waste. The charge applies per piece on top of the two free bulky dumps a household gets each year, and the council of governments also points Connecticut residents to the state mattress recycling programme for other disposal options.
