Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and small electronics

Accepted with preparation

Obsolete electronics, including computers, monitors, printers, stereo equipment and televisions, are dropped off at either Volusia County household hazardous waste facility, and the city publishes no rate for the service.

City cost & eligibility
The county publishes the electronics drop-off at both household hazardous waste facilities but no rate for it. Confirm any charge with the Volusia County Solid Waste and Recycling Division at 386-943-7889 before the trip, and note that recycled electronics are not available for purchase or trade-in.
When & how
Take the device to the Tomoka Farms Road Landfill on 1990 Tomoka Farms Road in Port Orange, open 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday, or to the West Volusia Transfer Station on 3151 E. New York Ave. in DeLand, open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The city hazardous materials page also points residents to electronics recycling or donation programmes.
Get it ready
Delete personal information from desktop and laptop computers before drop-off, keep electronics out of the toter and out of the yard waste pile, and keep them separate from the load if you are also making a weighed trip, because yard waste and other streams have to arrive separated.

The county sites take what the city will not

The Volusia County household hazardous waste facilities sit at the Tomoka Landfill on 1990 Tomoka Farms Road in Port Orange and the West Volusia Transfer Station on 3151 E. New York Ave. in DeLand. Both take obsolete electronics including computers, monitors, printers, stereo equipment and televisions, household chemicals, automotive fluids and batteries, and both run a non-commercial paint exchange. The Tomoka Landfill also takes yard waste, land clearing debris, construction material, appliances and all types of tires, and it requires those streams to arrive separated, while loads that are unsecured, mixed or from out of county are charged double.

City of Daytona Beach Solid Waste Division and Volusia County

Use the county hazardous waste and electronics drop-off

A household with televisions, computers, monitors or printers, or with household chemicals, batteries, automotive fluids, fluorescent tubes, pool chemicals or sharps.

Cost & conditions
The county publishes both facilities and the accepted electronics, chemicals and automotive fluids but no rate for household hazardous waste or electronics, while the sharps drop-off is published as without charge. Confirm any cost with the county Solid Waste and Recycling Division at 386-943-7889 before loading.
Arrange it
Drive to the Tomoka Farms Road Landfill on 1990 Tomoka Farms Road in Port Orange, open 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday, or the West Volusia Transfer Station on 3151 E. New York Ave. in DeLand, open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Both are closed Sunday, and cash or card is accepted if a weighed load is involved.

Electronics are not available for purchase or trade-in and personal data should be deleted first, sharp items must be in an approved red container, and business waste does not go through this programme. The two facilities are county sites, so the accepted material split between the landfill and the transfer station should be confirmed on the telephone.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Daytona Beach runs its own residential collection through the city Solid Waste Division and its contractor, twice a week on Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday depending on the address, and household garbage on those routes includes furniture, appliances and bulky items, which may be stacked neatly beside the toter. Call (386) 671-8670 to request a large item, keep everything hand-removable, and expect a charge on the utility account for a special collection, an over-limit pile, a move out or a clean out. Carpets must be cut, rolled and taped into sections no larger than four feet by eight feet and no heavier than 40 pounds, glass mirrors must be card boarded and taped, only car tires are accepted with a limit of eight a year, and a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioning unit must be ordered separately with the doors removed. A self-worked small renovation may go out in hand-removable containers of no more than 40 pounds, while contractor waste has to be disposed of by the contractor. Household hazardous waste, which covers paint, solvents, automotive fluids, batteries, fluorescent tubes, mercury devices, pool chemicals and sharps, goes to the Volusia County household hazardous waste facility at the Tomoka Landfill on 1990 Tomoka Farms Road in Port Orange or the West Volusia Transfer Station in DeLand, where obsolete electronics including computers, monitors, printers and televisions are also accepted, and the city holds an amnesty day each November at Public Works. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Daytona Beach.

How much does TV removal cost in Daytona Beach?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Daytona Beach?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
