Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Electronics, televisions and computers

Accepted with preparation

Electronics are not on the city bulk list, and the city instead routes them to the Miami-Dade County Home Chemical Collection Centers, which accept monitors, televisions, computers, printers, audio and video equipment and communication devices.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Free to residential customers at the two county Home Chemical Collection Centers, which are not open to business or commercial waste. Some home chemical products are also available free of charge there.
When & how
Take the devices to the West Dade center at 8801 NW 58 Street in Doral or the South Dade center at 23707 SW 97th Ave in Homestead, Gate B, either of which is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data before handover, pack containers upright in sturdy boxes if any chemicals travel with the load, keep electronics out of the olive green recycling cart, which refuses household garbage and miscellaneous plastics, and remember the centers are for residential customers only.

Carts go out 24 hours before and come in 24 hours after

Carts may be placed at the curbside no earlier than 24 hours before the scheduled collection day and must be returned within 24 hours after pickup. Household garbage has to be bagged before it goes in the trash cart, and anything that fits in the garbage cart with the lid closed can go there, including small bulk or yard waste. The olive green cart is for recycling only, lids must be closed with the arrows facing the street, and space must be left between the carts so the automated arms can reach them.

Chemicals and electronics go to a county collection center

Hazardous waste is prohibited in the bulk trash collection and paint is refused in the recycling cart, so those loads go to a Miami-Dade County Home Chemical Collection Center. The West Dade center is at 8801 NW 58 Street in Doral and the South Dade center at 23707 SW 97th Ave in Homestead, Gate B, and both open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for residential customers only. Containers travel upright in sturdy boxes with tight lids, leaking containers go inside a larger container with newspaper, and every container needs a label.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

North Miami keeps the household work in the weekly service. Garbage runs twice a week in the trash cart, recycling once a week in the olive green cart, and bulk trash once a week with a maximum of eight cubic yards, all covered by the monthly sanitation rate for single family and multifamily households of up to four units. Only appliances, furniture, mattresses and tree trimming done by the owner or a landscaper may go out as bulk trash, and the pile stays five feet clear of vehicles, trees, branches and wires. Everything else needs another route: tires, glass, paint buckets and construction materials such as lumber, pallets and drywall are prohibited, and hazardous waste is banned by code. Electronics and household chemicals go to a Miami-Dade County Home Chemical Collection Center, either the West Dade center at 8801 NW 58 Street in Doral or the South Dade center at 23707 SW 97th Ave in Homestead at Gate B, both open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and free to residential customers. Containers travel upright in sturdy labeled boxes, leaking containers go inside a larger container with newspaper, and usable latex paint should be donated while unusable liquid paint should be dried out and put in the waste cart. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in North Miami.

How much does TV removal cost in North Miami?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in North Miami?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
