Match the dresser’s overall size. Add a separate dresser mirror as its own item if it is leaving too. Empty drawers and keep the belongings you want before moving the dresser outside.
Desks and bookshelves
Choose by construction, not height alone. A basic desk is different from a heavy desk with a substantial body. A tall, lightweight bookcase can still be a standard bookshelf. Empty it first.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. For eligible City residential collection customers: up to two listed items that can be loaded by hand on yard-waste day. Normal OUC account charges still apply; oversized or heavy items requiring a claw truck are quoted separately.

At an eligible City residential address, place approved large items at the property edge before the curb. Keep streets, sidewalks, mailboxes, trees, poles, hydrants, storm drains and overhead utilities clear. The ordinary route is limited to two qualifying hand-loadable items; confirm other loads first.

Confirm the approved item location and collection responsibility with the property manager.
City container rules prohibit mattresses, sofas and recliners inside commercial dumpsters. Keep container access clear; do not assume the residential two-item allowance applies.
Household furniture classified as Class III waste.
Cover the load and separate electronics, cooling appliances and hazardous material. Class III loads go to the landfill, not the transfer stations. The small-vehicle area requires combined vehicle/trailer length under 30 feet and manual unloading; ask staff about other vehicle arrangements. Weigh out before leaving.
Public drop-off: Monday–Saturday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.; closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.
From $9 for minimum landfill load charge. Posted Class III furniture/C&D rate: $41.10 per ton, subject to the $9 minimum. Uncovered loads cost double; mixed loads use the higher rate. Confirm exact classification before hauling.

Can you take several different furniture items in one pickup?+
Yes. Add each piece and its quantity to one booking. A dining table and four chairs are five items; a separate mirror is not included with a dresser. You can mix eligible items from different rooms and review their combined total before paying.
Do I need to take furniture apart before pickup?+
You arrange any disassembly needed to move the furniture out of your home and into an accessible outdoor pickup spot. Dropcurb does not provide indoor disassembly or carrying. If you are unsure which catalog choice matches a dismantled or unusual piece, send a photo and ask before booking.
Does a couch need a separate pickup appointment?+
