Volusia County takes obsolete electronics from residents at either of its household hazardous waste facilities, and the list names computers, monitors, printers, stereo equipment and televisions. That gives a television a documented local drop off even though the city garbage page does not mention electronics.

No charge. Residents may drop obsolete electronics at either Volusia County household hazardous waste facility, at the Tomoka Landfill in Port Orange or the West Volusia Transfer Station in DeLand, as published by the county.
When & how
The Tomoka Landfill is open 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday and closed Sunday, and the West Volusia Transfer Station is open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Both close on New Year's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data before handover, and check whether the device is still working first, because the county encourages donating working equipment for reuse before recycling it.
Paint, batteries, medical sharps and medications, pressurized containers, garden and pest control products, cooking oil and other liquid or sludge waste are not accepted in the garbage. They go to the Volusia County household hazardous waste facility at the Tomoka Landfill in Port Orange or the West Volusia Transfer Station in DeLand, where the paint exchange and the sharps drop off also operate.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Both sites are closed on Sunday and on New Year's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas, so a trip should be planned around those days.

Closed Sunday and on New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, open on the other county holidays. Fees depend on the material class, vehicle tires beyond four free are charged by the ton, and household garbage is not accepted as a self haul because it belongs with the hauler.

From $19.39 per ton for clean debris covering clean dirt, mulch, chips and white goods that are household appliances only, under Resolution 2025-40 effective October 1, 2025, with construction and demolition at 38.78 per ton, yard trash and land clearing at 31.44 per ton and vehicle tires at 180.26 per ton. Any load delivered to the scale, paid in cash, by credit or debit card or on a monthly account; the household hazardous waste and electronics drop offs are free to county residents.

Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away.
