When & how

Empty the appliance, keep it within the two cubic yard limit and three feet from carts and obstructions, and keep propane, acetylene and helium tanks out of the pile because the city refuses them.
Carts and piles go out the evening before and come back in the same night
Garbage carts, recycling carts and bulk piles go to the curb no later than 7 a.m. on your pickup day and no earlier than 6 p.m. the evening prior, carts have to be removed the night of service, and everything stays at least three feet apart and three feet from mailboxes, utility poles, trees and fire hydrants, with handles facing the house and lid openings facing the street.
Bulk waste is two cubic yards a month on the regular pickup day
Bulk waste is collected once a month on the same day as the regular pickup and the pile is limited to two cubic yards, equal to two standard front load washers. A pile over the limit is tagged and left at the curb and the property owner arranges removal, and the pile is stacked neatly three feet from carts and obstructions.
