Carts go out by 6 a.m. and come back in the same day
Residential garbage is collected once a week, carts go to the curb by 6 a.m. on the service day, and they come back onto the property within 12 hours of collection in residential areas and three hours elsewhere. A cart sits not more than three feet from the edge of the pavement, stays clear of stationary objects, is set with the handle facing away from the street, and is never overfilled, because the lid has to close.
Bulk waste is anything too large for the cart, and the city collects it once a week. A home that exceeds the limits pays a special pickup fee, and paint, chemicals and electronic waste never belong in a bulky pile.
