Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Electronics and televisions

Special rules apply

Televisions and other electronics do not appear in the city's bulk item rule, and Henry County routes them away from the landfill instead. The county names televisions and monitors among its hard-to-recycle items and sends them to CHaRM, which charges per television or monitor and takes most other electronics, including computers, laptops, tablets, cell phones, microwaves, coffee makers, cables and chargers, at no fee.

City cost & eligibility
Neither the city nor the county publishes a curbside electronics route. Henry County tells residents to ask CHaRM about applicable fees, and CHaRM charges per television or monitor with no fee listed for other electronics, so confirm the item and the appointment with CHaRM at 404-600-6386 before loading the car.
When & how
CHaRM takes electronics by appointment only, with Atlanta hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is no published city electronics collection day, so the appointment is the scheduling step rather than the curbside day.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data from computers, laptops, tablets and phones before handover. Remove and tape the ends of removable batteries, and keep alkaline and car batteries out of the load entirely, because CHaRM refuses both. Keep the device out of the carts, because the city hauler services only the two supplied carts.
City sanitation and recycling page with the required citywide service, the Republic Services operator, the monthly rate on the water bill, the cart sizes and the rule that nothing outside the carts is serviced, the 6 a.m. curbside deadline, the three bulk item service day with the 50 pound limit on each item, the list of construction, remodeling, landscaping, dirt, concrete, carpet and padding material the city refuses, the 560 Macon Street drop-off with its Saturday window, the limb pickup service and the two-week recycling scheduleHenry County hard-to-recycle page listing paint, household chemicals, tires, televisions and monitors, mattresses, propane tanks, thermometers, smoke detectors, bulbs, CFL bulbs and toilets as items routed to CHaRM with fees to be confirmed, naming CHaRM for free Styrofoam and traditional recyclables and sending usable building materials to the Lifecycle Building CenterCHaRM items page with the appointment requirement, the no cash payment rule, the appliance list and per unit resident fee, the electronics definition with televisions and monitors charged and other devices free, the refusal of alkaline and car batteries, the mattress and box spring conditions and fee by size, the car and bicycle tire rule with the per tire fee and the refusals, the household chemical and paint weighing rule with the first 20 pounds free, and the free flat glass, books, usable clothing and cooking oilCHaRM site page with the Atlanta address at 1110 Hill St SE, Atlanta, GA 30315, the phone number 404-600-6386 and the appointment-only hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

City of McDonough Public Works with Republic Services, and Henry County for hard-to-recycle items

Use the county hard-to-recycle route to CHaRM

A household with a television or monitor, a large appliance, a mattress, tires, paint or household chemicals that the curbside route does not cover.

Cost & conditions
Henry County lists the items and tells residents to ask CHaRM about applicable fees, and CHaRM publishes its own per item schedule rather than a single price, so confirm the exact item and fee with CHaRM at 404-600-6386 before booking.
Arrange it
Book an appointment with CHaRM, sort and separate the load before arrival, and pay by Venmo, credit card, debit card or Apple Pay, because the site does not accept cash. The county hard-to-recycle page lists what goes to CHaRM and what goes to the Lifecycle Building Center or to a vehicle donation programme.

The county sends paint, household chemicals, tires, televisions and monitors, mattresses, propane tanks, thermometers, smoke detectors, bulbs, CFL bulbs and toilets to CHaRM, but CHaRM refuses some of what the county lists, including propane tanks and alkaline and car batteries, so the item has to be checked against the CHaRM list before the trip.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self haul in McDonough runs on two tracks. The county route is the one for hard to recycle material, because Henry County names televisions and monitors, mattresses, tires, paint, household chemicals, bulbs, CFL bulbs, toilets, thermometers, smoke detectors and propane tanks as items it routes to CHaRM and tells residents to ask about fees. CHaRM Atlanta is at 1110 Hill St SE, is open by appointment only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., does not take cash and refuses propane tanks and alkaline and car batteries even though the county lists them, so the item has to be checked against the CHaRM list first. For everything else, the city itself is the drop-off: 560 Macon Street, the site it calls the old Mercer Building, on the first and third Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a lunch break from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., for City of McDonough residential customers only. The county also states that the transfer stations and landfills it lists nearby are not operated by the county and should be called about fees, and that yard debris and recyclables go to the Henry County Recycle Center, whose own page published no address or hours in this session, so that stop has to be confirmed before a trip. Henry County hard-to-recycle page listing paint, household chemicals, tires, televisions and monitors, mattresses, propane tanks, thermometers, smoke detectors, bulbs, CFL bulbs and toilets as items routed to CHaRM with fees to be confirmed, naming CHaRM for free Styrofoam and traditional recyclables and sending usable building materials to the Lifecycle Building CenterCHaRM items page with the appointment requirement, the no cash payment rule, the appliance list and per unit resident fee, the electronics definition with televisions and monitors charged and other devices free, the refusal of alkaline and car batteries, the mattress and box spring conditions and fee by size, the car and bicycle tire rule with the per tire fee and the refusals, the household chemical and paint weighing rule with the first 20 pounds free, and the free flat glass, books, usable clothing and cooking oilCHaRM site page with the Atlanta address at 1110 Hill St SE, Atlanta, GA 30315, the phone number 404-600-6386 and the appointment-only hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.City sanitation and recycling page with the required citywide service, the Republic Services operator, the monthly rate on the water bill, the cart sizes and the rule that nothing outside the carts is serviced, the 6 a.m. curbside deadline, the three bulk item service day with the 50 pound limit on each item, the list of construction, remodeling, landscaping, dirt, concrete, carpet and padding material the city refuses, the 560 Macon Street drop-off with its Saturday window, the limb pickup service and the two-week recycling schedule2026 tentative bulk item drop-off calendar with the first and third Saturday window from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the lunch closing from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., the Saturdays the site is closed and the notice that the city may close the site during its published hoursHenry County trash drop-off page listing the third-party transfer stations and landfills near the Recycle Center with addresses and phone numbers, the notice that the county does not own or operate them and that residents call about fees, and the local donation sites including the Habitat for Humanity ReStore on Highway 20 West with the advice to call about accepted itemsHenry County curbside trash and recycling page stating that the county collects no residential or commercial trash or recycling, that unincorporated properties use private providers, that residents inside McDonough city limits contact the McDonough Public Works Department at 678-782-6272, that yard debris and recyclables go to the Henry County Recycle Center and listing private providers with phone numbers

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in McDonough.

How much does TV removal cost in McDonough?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in McDonough?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
