Henry County tells residents to ask CHaRM about applicable fees, and CHaRM charges per television or monitor with no fee listed for other electronics, so confirm the item and the appointment with CHaRM at 404-600-6386 before loading the car.
When & how
CHaRM takes electronics by appointment only, with Atlanta hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is no published city electronics collection day, so the appointment is the scheduling step rather than the curbside day.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data from computers, laptops, tablets and phones before handover. Remove and tape the ends of removable batteries, and keep alkaline and car batteries out of the load entirely, because CHaRM refuses both. Keep the device out of the carts, because the city hauler services only the two supplied carts.

Arrange it
Book an appointment with CHaRM, sort and separate the load before arrival, and pay by Venmo, credit card, debit card or Apple Pay, because the site does not accept cash. The county hard-to-recycle page lists what goes to CHaRM and what goes to the Lifecycle Building Center or to a vehicle donation programme.
The county sends paint, household chemicals, tires, televisions and monitors, mattresses, propane tanks, thermometers, smoke detectors, bulbs, CFL bulbs and toilets to CHaRM, but CHaRM refuses some of what the county lists, including propane tanks and alkaline and car batteries, so the item has to be checked against the CHaRM list before the trip.
