Choose the right items

One computer setup can be several items.

A separate monitor and tower count separately. Small devices and cables have their own box option. Choose what is actually leaving so your price matches the pickup.

Monitor, desktop or laptop.

Choose Computer monitor for each separate display. Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. A laptop is its own item. Add only the devices going.

Printer or office copier.

A printer with a built-in scanner belongs under Printer. A floor-standing copy machine belongs under Office copier. The shape matters more than the brand.

A box of smaller electronics.

Use Box of electronics for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. For a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries, send a photo and confirm the fit before booking.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Valdosta collects three residential streams once a week on one designated service day, and each stream arrives on its own truck, so the household work is in the separation. Garbage goes in the green rollout inside the noon to 5 a.m. window, yard trash goes out beside it in bags, boxes or containers with limbs and leaves in two separate piles, and large bulk items form a third pile that is free up to one unit of four feet wide by eight feet long by five feet high and priced per unit past that. Special pickups do not require a call in. What the curb will not take has to go somewhere else, and the published route is the City's spring and fall electronics recycling events at the Public Works facility on 1017 Myrtle Street, where computers, laptops, cell phones, printers, cables, televisions and CRTs are accepted free and appliances and gas powered equipment are refused. Recycling moved off the curb to a single drop off site at 3130 Val Tech Rd, and household chemicals have no published drop off at all, so that route has to be confirmed by phone before anything moves. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Electronics removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Valdosta.

How much does electronics pickup cost in Valdosta?

A computer monitor is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Choose the actual devices and quantities to see your combined price online. A separate desktop tower and monitor are separate items. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; review the total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can you pick up old electronics today in Valdosta?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout and have the prepared items outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done. The booking is for a day, not an exact arrival time.

Does computer removal include my monitor and printer?

Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. Add a separate monitor, printer or laptop as its own item if it is going too. For small devices, cables and chargers together, choose Box of electronics and check the description before booking.

Do you erase data from old computers?

Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away. Completion photos confirm the pickup, not data destruction.Official guidance

Can I book one box of old cables and small electronics?

Yes. Box of electronics is an existing option for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. A monitor, desktop computer and printer each have their own item option. Send a photo before booking for a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries so we can confirm the fit.

Where do electronics go in Valdosta?

To the City's spring or fall electronics recycling event at the Public Works facility on 1017 Myrtle Street, which runs from 8 a.m. to noon and takes computers, laptops, cell phones, printers, cameras, cables, televisions and CRTs along with batteries. Confirm the next date on 229-259-3588, because the event pages carry 2024 dates.Official guidance

What is refused at the electronics event?

Vacuum cleaners, washers and dryers, gas powered equipment and other non electronic items. The events are limited to electronics, so an appliance or a gas powered tool needs a different destination, which the City can confirm on 229-259-3588.Official guidance

Who collects the waste in Valdosta?

The Residential Sanitation Division of the City of Valdosta Public Works Department, which serves more than 20,000 residential customers with once a week garbage, yard trash and bulk item collection. Sign up through the customer service division on 229-259-3510, and call the Public Works collection office on 229-259-3590 for a collection day question, a rollout or a missed pickup.Official guidance

How do I find my collection day?

The City publishes a sanitation schedule map and marks the designated day on each green rollout with a color coded sticker that pairs with the map. The three streams of garbage, yard debris and bulk items are all picked up on that designated service day, and Public Works on 229-259-3585 can confirm the day.Official guidance

How do holidays affect collection?

The Sanitation Division collects only residential garbage on holidays, so a holiday route is for the green rollout. Household garbage is not collected on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day and is picked up the next day, and junk items and yard waste are collected the following business day.Official guidance

Is curbside recycling still collected?

No. The City's recycling division moved away from curbside collection to a single drop off site at 3130 Val Tech Rd, where recyclable material has to be clean, dry and empty and cardboard boxes have to be broken down. Anything not on the accepted list is treated as non recyclable and should not go in the trailers.Official guidance

What if I cannot move the container?

The City offers a walk up service for elderly customers and for anyone whose disability prevents them from rolling the container out when no other able resident lives in the home. A letter from a medical provider on letterhead is required, a long term condition is revalidated every two years, and the paperwork goes to the Public Works office or the published fax number.Official guidance
