Match the frame to the receiver
A complete wood or platform bed with its headboard, footboard, side rails and hardware is the strongest donation candidate in the listed programs. Greater Albuquerque ReStore accepts complete bed frames and futon frames. Twin Cities ReStore accepts complete beds but not metal bed frames. Los Angeles St. Vincent de Paul accepts complete bed frames and excludes incomplete frames.
If you have only a bare metal frame, do not assume these donation rules apply. Check the receiver before arranging transport, and keep every rail, fastener and other hardware with the frame. A mattress or box spring is a separate item and needs separate approval.
For a metal frame, check Goodwill’s regional bed-frame rules before making that donation trip.

Prepare the donation request
Confirm that the frame is complete and does not need repair or extensive cleaning. Have the frame’s parts together and provide clear photos so the receiver can assess what you have before pickup or drop-off arrangements. Donation pickup is local and subject to request and approval for the listed organizations.

If donation routes do not accept it
Dropcurb can handle an accepted bed frame that is already outside and accessible: loading, transport and disposal are included. Its current catalog defines a bed frame as a regular metal, wood or platform bed frame; a mattress and box spring are separate items. You can book before moving the frame outside, but it must be outside and accessible before pickup. If you need someone to carry the frame out from indoors, use a service that includes indoor carrying.
