Who buys old washers and dryers?

For working washers and electric dryers, TV Mount Charlotte buys selected appliances after reviewing photos, model, age and condition in listed areas around Charlotte, Concord, Kannapolis, Huntersville, Mint Hill and Harrisburg. For scrap, SA Recycling buys selected metal household appliances, but acceptance, yard pricing and pickup terms must be confirmed with the actual facility. Before moving anything, request a written offer that states your net amount after transport or other charges; neither route provides a universal cash guarantee.

Try resale first when the appliance works

Send clear photos and the model, age and condition to a local buyer. Working, complete appliances with little rust and no mold smell are more likely to qualify; major missing parts, heavy rust, pests or no resale value can lead to rejection. Confirm the buyer’s service area and pickup before moving the appliance.

Use scrap when resale is not realistic

SA Recycling lists washers and dryers among metal household appliances it buys. Contact the specific yard to confirm that it accepts your appliance, ask for current pricing and verify whether household pickup is available. Metal values and pickup terms can change, so do not assume a quoted rate applies at every yard.

Choose removal when loading or transport is the problem

If no buyer gives you a worthwhile net offer, or you cannot manage the loading and transport, paid removal can be the simpler option. If you can move the appliance outside yourself, you can book pickup before doing so, but the accepted item must be outside and accessible before collection.

Where Dropcurb fits

Dropcurb does not buy washers or dryers; it provides paid removal. For an accepted washing machine or clothes dryer already outside and accessible, Dropcurb handles loading, transportation and disposal. Standard pickup requires an accessible outdoor location, and indoor carry-out is not available, so arrange that move before pickup if you choose this option.
