Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.
Toilets
Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.
Bathroom vanities
Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

City cost & eligibility
The City states plainly that it does not collect construction debris and that a private disposal firm can be hired for it, and the waste services hub lists a separate roll-off dumpster service for construction or cleanout projects, so the City garbage program carries no amount for this material.
When & how
Keep construction material out of the garbage, recycling and bulk piles and arrange either a private disposal firm or a rented roll-off container.
Get it ready
Absolutely no construction material is collected in the bulk trash, and this is separate from the free bulk collection that does take household furniture, so a renovation load has to be staged for its own container or contractor.
Trash carts come in three sizes with recycling included in the monthly cost, collection is weekly on the assigned day, and the City bills trash, recycling and food and yard waste every two months on the water, sewer and sanitation bill. A household gets one free service adjustment each year and pays a published fee for further changes in the same calendar year, though cart maintenance such as replacing, repairing or exchanging a broken cart is separate. If a collection day falls on or after a City-recognised holiday, the service is postponed by one day.
Seasonal drop-offs for trees, lights and mercury bulbs
Holiday trees are collected by the residential hauler during the first two full weeks of January on the normal collection schedule days and are either composted or chipped into mulch, and a tree left after those weeks has to be logged with the City's 311 service for the Public Works team. Holiday string lights and extension cords are accepted from December 1 through January 31 at selected community centres, and no other holiday decorations are taken. Mercury-containing bulbs are accepted at the Ecology Center, including linear, U-tube and circline fluorescent tubes, bug zappers, tanning bulbs, black lights, germicidal and high-output bulbs, while LED and incandescent bulbs are not accepted and can go in the trash.
