Bolingbrook refuse service allows one bulk item per week at no charge on collection day through Flood Brothers. Additional bulk items are $8 each, heavy items over 50 pounds require special pickup, electronics pickup must be scheduled 48 hours ahead, and TVs beyond the included limit add extra fees.

Skokie allows one large bulk item or up to two smaller items at the curb once per week on regular refuse day, with items set out by 7 a.m. Mattresses must be wrapped, bulk set-outs are not allowed during holiday weeks, and larger cleanouts require scheduling or a dumpster through LRS.

Oak Lawn shifted to Flood Brothers on Oct 1, 2026. Garbage, recycling, and yard waste must be out before 6 a.m.; extra refuse containers have weight and size limits (33-gallon max, 50 lb limit for bags/containers). Electronic waste pickup is available by appointment for a $30 fee (up to 10 items, one TV), and household hazardous waste pickup is available for $7 per item.

Orland Park partners with WM for weekly residential collection, including one bulk item per week on regular pickup day. Village guidance also references special collection channels for electronics, hazardous materials, and other restricted items, which often require separate scheduling.

Mount Prospect requires trash in carts, and garbage outside the cart that is not on the approved bulk-item list is not collected. Excess trash, non-bulk items, and construction debris over one cubic yard require a paid special pickup arranged with Republic Services.

Berwyn residential collection includes one bulk item pickup per week at no extra charge through SBC Waste Solutions, with alley set-out by 6:00 AM. Additional special collections may require contacting SBC, and appliance/e-waste pickups are pre-scheduled.

Tinley Park residential waste service includes weekly collection and allows bulk items, but oversized pickups and some special materials require separate scheduling with Homewood Disposal. Set-out timing and material rules apply, which can delay urgent multi-item cleanouts.

The Village of Oak Park contracts garbage service through LRS for residential properties with five units or fewer, with weekly collection rules. Bulk disposal is limited to one bulk item per week with two pink refuse stickers, and hazardous/special waste requires separate state or county channels.

Wheaton uses an LRS pay-as-you-throw program with RFID carts for garbage and recycling. Bulk items, e-waste, yard waste, and excess trash need paid stickers, with specific prep rules and limits. Pickup is by route day and not designed as on-demand same-day cleanout service.

Normal collects bulky waste weekly on regular garbage day, but set-out timing is strict (after 6 p.m. prior day or before 6 a.m. collection day), and any pile over 500 pounds must use a private contractor or dumpster. Electronics and landscape waste are excluded from standard bulky pickup.

Hoffman Estates residential service uses Village rules with Groot Industries. Trash must be in approved toters or tied bags, bags are capped at 32 gallons and 50 pounds, and oversized cleanouts over one cubic yard require pre-scheduled special pickup billed by cubic yard. Appliance and electronics pickups are available, but scheduling rules still apply.

Glenview contracts with Groot for weekly residential collection, but material outside carts cannot exceed 50 pounds per piece/container and bulky or heavy items require scheduled bulk pickup with a fee. White goods and electronics also require separate scheduling, and homes with 3+ attached units are outside the default Village contract unless an HOA opts in.

City of DeKalb residents receive weekly LRS collection, and city FAQ guidance states bulk items are limited to up to 2 per week on regular collection day. E-waste pickup is monthly by request during the first full week, and household hazardous waste uses a separate request-based collection process.

Alton residents with Republic Services can use free bulk pickup for single-family homes, but items must follow city placement and material rules and schedules. Bulk and e-waste guidance is published by the city, with additional county recycling and disposal rules in Madison County.
