No charge. The City describes the extra trash and bulky item collection as a courtesy service included with residential trash service, with no charge published. It asks residents to use it as needed rather than weekly, and anything beyond the published limits is the property owner's responsibility and is handled by a private hauler.

The Columbus/Bartholomew Recycling Center on Mapleton Street and the Bartholomew County Landfill on CR 450 S. accept residential electronic waste with a flat charge for televisions and monitors, refrigerant containing appliances by the unit, tires on a published fee schedule, used motor oil with nothing mixed in, and scrap metal, and the recycling center also hosts the Tox-Away household hazardous waste program. Both sites serve Bartholomew County residents only.

Can I get compost from the yard waste program?+
Yes. Yard waste collected in the city program is composted at the Bartholomew County Yard Waste site, and residents can pick up compost at the Bartholomew County Recycling Center, either self serve or loaded for a fee.
