No charge. Fishers residents at the free City Recycling Day held in the spring and fall, where appliances are named in the accepted list. Hamilton County residents may also drop off refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers and window air conditioners at the county household hazardous waste center free of charge, provided the unit is completely empty inside, and small kitchen appliances are accepted there as well.

At the City Recycling Day on its published spring or fall date, or at the county center on Tuesdays through Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., closed Sunday, Monday and county holidays.

Arrange it
Bring the load to the published park location on the event date, typically a Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and keep the material sorted so it can be unloaded.
Wood, mattresses, foam containers and peanuts, glass, grease, plastic and general trash are refused and have to be taken home, so those items need another route.

Household chemicals, paint, electronics including computers, monitors, printers, microwaves, DVD players, cords, vacuums, tablets and cell phones, refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers and window air conditioners that are empty inside, household cleaners, used oil, antifreeze, fuels, car batteries, car and truck tires, rechargeable batteries, sharps in an approved container, fluorescent and LED lamps, fire extinguishers and lawn and garden chemicals.
Hamilton County residents, with advanced registration encouraged but not required and residents not refused without it. Material in trash bags, spilling, leaking or otherwise unsafe is refused, a sorted load in a box or container is expected, tires are limited to five per week and must be clean and free of water with racing, agricultural and bicycle tires excluded, alkaline batteries are not accepted, televisions carry a published per television fee, and lumber, wood, grass clippings and yard waste are not accepted.
Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., closed Sunday, Monday and county government holidays.
