Wrap upholstered furniture in plastic and seal it properly, because an unwrapped couch or box spring may be left behind and a return trip is charged. Chairs, tables, armoires, cabinets, chests, headboards, dressers and interior doors are all named as acceptable, while furniture stays out of the recycling cart.
Up to two bulky items go out on the regular collection day, and no appointment is needed because the drivers identify the items during service and call them in. A mattress, a couch, a box spring or any upholstered piece has to be fully wrapped in plastic and sealed. An item that is not wrapped may be left behind, the contractor is sent back for a special pickup and the published charge for that return trip is applied to the customer.
