Get it ready
The city asks that only garbage and trash go in a trash container, so a mattress is not a container item. Keep it dry, bag nothing around it, and keep it clear of the street until the confirmed pickup or trip.
Keep trash in a covered container behind the setback
Trash containers need a watertight body and a tight-fitting cover that stays secured, and only garbage and trash go inside. Store containers behind the front yard setback, about 25 feet from the property line, except on collection day, and put a bag out only if it is strong enough to survive normal handling.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.
