Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Carts at the curb before 7 a.m. and back in by the next afternoon

Trash carts go to the curb before 7 a.m. on the designated collection day with the arrows pointing toward the street and three feet of space around each cart, and everything has to fit inside the cart. Recycling is collected every other week on the same day as the trash and follows the same cart rules, loose material stays loose inside the cart, containers are rinsed, mixed paper stays dry, boxes are flattened or cut down to four feet by two feet, and carts come back in by 5 p.m. the day after collection and are stored in a garage or beside the residence the rest of the time.

Yard waste is collected separately every week

Yard waste is collected weekly on the regular trash day and is kept separate from the trash. Grass clippings, leaves and small plant trimmings go in compostable paper yard waste bags or the City yard cart, plastic bags are prohibited, and limbs and brush have to be under four inches in diameter, under four feet in length and tied in bundles with string or twine weighing under fifty pounds. Sod, soil, landscaping rock and treated lumber such as fence posts, landscaping timbers and wood pallets are prohibited, holiday trees have to have their plastic bags, ornaments, tinsel and lights removed, and anything larger than the limb limit goes to the Community Recycling Center or onto a booked bulk pick-up.

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Olathe.

How much does TV removal cost in Olathe?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Olathe?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
