Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, monitors and electronics

Special rules apply

Televisions, computer monitors and computers are banned from the trash cart, and the Recycling Center takes them with a fee that depends on the screen type. The same site accepts laptops, desktop computers, printers, scanners, modems, radios and game consoles, and takes fluorescent bulbs, thermostats and rechargeable lithium batteries as universal waste at no charge.

City cost & eligibility
$20 per countertop or wall mounted television or monitor, CRT or flat screen, with console and projection televisions priced at 25 dollars each including any wood or stand. Haverhill and Bradford residents during Recycling Center hours, with payment online, at the DPW office window on Wednesdays or at the gatehouse on Saturdays, where cash is not accepted.
When & how
Bring electronics to the Recycling Center at 95 Downing Avenue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM or Saturday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and keep the receipt if the fee was paid online so the attendant can see it at the gate.
Get it ready
Keep televisions, monitors and computers out of the cart and out of the overflow bags, because the city leaves banned material at the curb. Bring a computer with its keyboard and mouse if you want them taken with it, and leave small kitchen appliances, paint and aerosol cans, Styrofoam and anything containing hazardous substances out of the load, because the center refuses them.

The banned list is what sends a clear-out to another route

Appliances, air conditioners, televisions, computers, fluorescent light fixtures, waste oil, leaves and yard waste outside an approved collection day, tires, engines, batteries, chain link fence, wood, demolition debris and metals are all banned from the trash cart, and the city leaves those items at the curb when they are put out. They go to the Recycling Center, to a booked bulky pickup or to a household hazardous waste event instead. A move-out pile that exceeds the cart and the overflow bag allowance has to be collected privately.

Set-out windows, cart placement and who is eligible

Nothing goes to the curb before 4:00 PM on the day before collection, everything has to be out by 6:00 AM on the collection day, and empty containers come back off the curb by 11:59 PM that night. Carts need about three feet of clearance from poles, mailboxes, hydrants, trees and parked cars, no more than five feet from the curb edge, with the lid arrows facing the street so the truck arm can service them. Single-family homes through eight-unit buildings are eligible for city collection, with one cart per unit, and a condominium complex already on dumpster service keeps that service.

Drive the load to the Haverhill Recycling Center

A household that would rather drop mattresses, appliances, electronics, metal, tires, waste oil, textiles or yard waste than book a collection.

Cost & conditions
The Recycling Center publishes a per-item fee list that is free for scrap metal, textiles, plastic film, universal waste and the monthly waste oil, and priced by item for appliances, electronics, mattresses, tires, batteries and yard waste, with payment online, at the DPW office window on Wednesdays or at the gatehouse on Saturdays where cash is not accepted. Confirm the rate for the exact item before loading.
Arrange it
Drive to 95 Downing Avenue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM or Saturday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, keep the material separated, and expect to unload it yourself.

Haverhill and Bradford residents only. The center refuses furniture, building and demolition material, trash bags, Styrofoam, small kitchen appliances, brick, dirt, concrete and anything containing paint, aerosols or other hazardous substances.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Haverhill works from the curb first, so most material moves through the cart, an overflow bag or a booked bulky pickup, and the city's own drop-off handles what those routes refuse. The Recycling Center at 95 Downing Avenue, at the rear of the 500 Primrose Street lot, is open year round to Haverhill and Bradford residents on Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and it takes mattresses and box springs, appliances, televisions and other electronics, scrap metal, tires, auto batteries, universal waste, waste oil on the last Saturday of the month, textiles, plastic film, plastic containers 1 through 7, glass, cans and paper, plus leaves, grass and brush while the yard is open. Scrap metal, textiles, plastic film, universal waste and the monthly waste oil are free, while appliances, electronics, mattresses, tires, batteries and power equipment are priced per item and paid online or at the center. Two materials have no city route at all: furniture, which the center refuses outright, and construction, demolition and remodeling debris, which the city tells residents to dispose of privately. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Haverhill.

How much does TV removal cost in Haverhill?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Haverhill?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

What does Haverhill charge to recycle a television?

The Recycling Center charges 20 dollars for a countertop or wall mounted television or monitor, whether CRT or flat screen, and 25 dollars for a console or projection set including any wood or stand. Laptops, desktop computers, printers, scanners, radios and game consoles are accepted at the same site, and payment can be made online or at the center.Official guidance

What does electronics recycling cost in Haverhill?

$20 per countertop or wall mounted television or monitor, CRT or flat screen, with console and projection televisions priced at 25 dollars each including any wood or stand. Haverhill and Bradford residents during Recycling Center hours, with payment online, at the DPW office window on Wednesdays or at the gatehouse on Saturdays, where cash is not accepted. Bring electronics to the Recycling Center at 95 Downing Avenue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM or Saturday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and keep the receipt if the fee was paid online so the attendant can see it at the gate.Official guidance

Who do I call if Haverhill misses my trash or recycling?

Report a missed collection to the city hauler Capitol Waste at 1-866-569-1718, or dial 311 inside the city and 978-358-1311 from outside it. Trash and recycling have to be at the curb by 6:00 AM on the collection day, containers come back off the curb by 11:59 PM that day, and the Solid Waste and Recycling Department at 978-420-3817 answers questions about the program.Official guidance

Where does Haverhill take paint, chemicals and other household hazardous waste?

The city runs two household hazardous waste drop-offs a year for residents with proof of residency, on Saturday, March 21 and Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Wastewater Treatment Plant at 40 South Porter Street from 9:00 AM until noon, with a limit of 25 gallons of liquid chemicals and 25 pounds of dry chemicals. Dried latex paint and empty cans can go in the regular trash, while oil-based paint, propane tanks, tires, auto batteries and televisions are not accepted at the event and go to the Recycling Center or another drop-off instead.Official guidance

Can a reusable sofa, appliance or mattress go to the city instead of the trash?

The Recycling Center takes clothing and textiles free of charge, and the Big Brother Big Sister Foundation collects textiles at the curb free of charge on request at 508-466-4590, but the center refuses furniture, couches, dressers, shelving and small kitchen appliances. UTEC is not accepting donated mattresses, so a reusable piece needs a charity that accepts it, a booked bulky pickup for a sofa, or an appliance drop-off at the center for a fee.Official guidance
