The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.
Flat-screen TVs
Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.
Tube TVs
An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.
TV stands and other electronics
The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Batteries, electronics and televisions do not belong in the curbside recycling cart. They go to the drop-off center by appointment, where televisions are charged per unit and loose electronic waste is charged by the container.
City cost & eligibility
From $10 per flat screen television at the Bay City Recycles Drop-Off Center, where a cathode ray tube television costs more and loose electronic waste is charged per 18 gallon bin. City resident pricing requires identification proving residency and is limited to owner-occupied properties with homeowner generated, non-contractor material. Appointments are required, and any zip code may use the center at non-resident rates.
When & how
Drop-off only, by appointment booked through the ReDirectory or by phone. Curbside recycling runs every other week on the same weekday as trash and does not take batteries, electronics, scrap metal or bulky items.

Bring a container for loose electronic waste because that material is charged per 18 gallon bin. Household batteries are accepted separately and must be sorted and prepared before you arrive, and lithium batteries are not accepted.

Staff do not unload for you, so bring help for anything heavy or bulky. Tire and cathode ray tube television acceptance depends on storage or end markets being available, and the drop-off publishes no rate for a load that mixes refuse with building material, so confirm that charge when you book.
