Get it ready
Sort the load before the trip, because screens are charged on their own line, cords and string lights and media are accepted separately, and household batteries need to be in a clear plastic bag or taped at the terminals. Confirm the device is on the county accepted list before making the drive.
Hennepin County takes material from county households with proof of residency such as a driver's license or utility bill. Stay in your vehicle, keep hazardous waste in sealed containers of five gallons or less and upright in a plastic lined box, and carry the load in the trunk, the truck bed or a trailer. The Brooklyn Park station is closed Sunday and Monday and on Memorial Day, Independence Day, Juneteenth, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
